yitz: For Chorus, I think if you look carefully the "ITP" is the part of the assembly that attaches the ONT to the wall.
Yep, Ultrafast Fibre has been doing this for a couple of years now, I'd imagine Enable has followed suit. Such a better way of doing it, no exposed leads, a wall mounted assembly doesn't hint at someone to take the ONT with them etc.
That's a pretty hard bend in the OPs post though, I'd raise that with Enable, needs some QA love.
Update: Been in contact with a couple of Enable agents (email & phone) and they both agree that an ITP should have been installed. We had a later booking (20/1) which wasn't cancelled by Enable so a tech came (from Multimedia Communications, the contractor?). He also agreed that an ITP should have been installed but he didn't install it since he said it was not his team (install was considered complete and he's for 'new installs'). He was advised to not touch it since the internet is working. He took a picture though and said would find out why the other tech didn't install the ITP. He did arrange stuff for me in the distribution box so thanks to him! Not so messy now. I guess Enable and the contractor will be talking...
Enable also mentioned that I should report this as a fault to my ISP (Bigpipe) so I guess you can imagine my inbox has been constantly receiving messages from Bigpipe and Enable.
Tl;dr still no ITP :D
@chevrolux I understand your point and I kind of agree, somehow. I think I just want this fibre cable covered/secured. I don't want to be able to move it.

540trickzter: I'm in Christchurch in a Chorus area and they installed fibre in our new house a few months ago. They didn't install a ITP in our comms box. I asked the installer why no ITP and he said they only put ITP's in brownfield(older houses) installs. As our house was a (Greenfield) newly built house, they don't put ITP's in. Anyone know if this is the procedure?
look up to the top of the page, yitz post, i believe its in the mount where the ont mounts to the wall

Yeah was it an chorus van that turned up?
As enable is the sole provider for fibre in CHCH so I'm tending to believe it was done by enables contractor. If so there standard is to install an itp in all installs.
I believe that Chorus is providing fibre in some new Christchurch subdivisions - some which were built prior to the government UFB programme, and some later on where developers chose Chorus or Enable to reticulate fibre in their subdivisions

Yeah, Chorus van. I also thought that Enable was sole LFC for ChCh. But Chorus does do certain parts of ChCh. I'm in Aidanfield ChCh which is Chorus.
Here's a picture of our install. They just ran a 20m or so fibre cable from the ETP on the outside of the Garage to the commsbox straight into the ONT. No ITP.

Chorus UFB installs don't usually have an ITP, they just coil the fibres in the tray behind the ONT.

How did this end?
@phantomdb thanks for bumping the thread! Was on a holiday so I didn't get to update.
Anyway, sometime mid-March I sent an email to Bigpipe asking why there has been no update since January. They said Enable marked our case closed so they said they would investigate and make sure things would be resolved. Then another email came mentioning I would be contacted by Enable regarding the install. Instead of a call or email, I got a tech and he installed the ITP.
Enable tech asked me the same questions... if I still remember who installed it, etc. Anyway, another TL;DR, ITP has been installed. :D
