Where are you downloading from? and at what speed? Your speeds seem fine on the speed test.

Also could you please try a ping test from http://www.pingtest.net/ to both Auckland and LA.

All kinds of sites. A recent example, trying to download Firefox from the official site at 2:54am gets me a speed of about 16kb/s.

And as for the ping tests...

Are you using a download manager?

Do me a favor and try downloading this for me http://la.hlgamers.com/uploads/100meg.test using a download manager.

If you use firefox id recommend downthemall.

I get 800KB/s off it on big time.

I tried it with downthemall and got an average speed of 680KB/s. Pretty good, but not everything will give me that kind of speed obviously. :(

I am just wondering, there appears to be a lot of 'insider support' from telecom or vodofone posting positive remarks about their company any time a genuine problem from the general users perspective is posted. the sense of defensiveness takes away from the expectations of an unbiased website, the main reason some of us come here to talk about or tech issues rather then go to the company web page.

Usually the whole point of making a post about a problem, fault, issue or bug.. is to find out whether other people have the same problem... and if they do to raise awareness so the company does something to fix it.

I don't really see a problem with someone from the company in question posting an answer to a problem or explanation of why something is a certain way... basically I'd consider that mission accomplished!

Read Ragnor's reply - I see no problem in companies posting here.  Better to have this interaction and help them find when problems exist than having a bunch of people complaining about problems that never go away.

In my dealings with people from all those companies I can say they are genuinely interested in having things working all the time.

You have to realise complaining to your peers won't solve any problem. Having your voice heard by the companies is more likely to have those problems solved.

voting with your wallet is also very effective, providing feedback is given to the correct channels around your reasons for doing so.

Personally i belive If they were not here, it would be even worsely biased. All the posts would be problem after problem and none with a fix or solution. Lets face it, some of the people that post here have not contacted them.

I also believe Geekzone will never delete your comment at the request of a business that posts here. This means it can be attacked from both points of view, making it a very balanced opinion.
