Yeah, in case anyone's wondering; The Spark connection is free given my wife works at Spark, otherwise I wouldn't bother doing this :p

Quick update on firmware 6.20 on 7390. This version has almost fixed my issues with the Broadcom line card I'm on.

On 5.x and 6.x prior to this I managed to get back to DLM1 by sliding the SNR slider to max stability but was only syncing at 29Mb (down from 43Mb before we were randomly moved off an Ikanos line card). Even still, the error rate was up and down and I've been yo-yo-ing up and down DLM profiles for months before I ended up on DLM1.

With 6.20 my CRC errors dropped to 0 so I tried sliding back to max-stability. Now syncing at 34.8Mb with 0.48 CRC per min. Fingers crossed it stays this way over the next few days!

I have recently purchased a Fritzbox 7490 from Australia.  I have it working with my Vodafone VDSL connection no problem.  Bought it so that I could do a bit of tweaking to see if I could improve my download speeds.  I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to reduce my SNR from 12 to say 8 to see if that increases my download speed.  I have followed instructions from the first 4/5 pages of this forum topic but each time I try to save the changes, I get the message "

Restore settings failed!

A problem occurred while restoring the settings.

The specified file is not a valid import file.

I have tried the various ways of changing the "downStreamMarginoffset" as suggested in the posts but each time it fails to load the cfg file. I am running on 06.20

Any ideas on how I can apply this tweak or what I might be doing wrong?

Got VDSL with Orcon installed thursday in Newtown, so using the NF4V. The tech replaced the splitter and sync increased from 19/10 to 25/10. Haven't really experienced any changes to the sync other than a slight drop of 0.2mbit. Anything out of the ordinary in my line stats? I understand that 20.7 dB isn't the greatest but pleased with 25/10 if it stays that way. Can't tell what DLM profile I'm on.

Yea

Frontliner: you can use this table to work out where you are for DLM
