Theclaytons: Chris Clayton is me, the OP.
According to statistics New Zealand there were a little over 3000 usual residents in Kirwee in 2006. It has grown substantially since then post earthquakes.

I am confused by a couple of the posts. In one post so done says it is an exchange problem and not an ISP problem and then JohnR says it is an ISP problem.
Can someone clarify.
Chris.
Theclaytons: As you would expect from a monopoly.
HI Chris, this is currently being looked at by one of our team member that looks after community based requests. She will be in contact as soon as she can. ^JD
In other words, please go away, we don't care.
My wife had morning tea with a bunch of mums from Kirwee this morning and they were complaining independently of us about how bad the internet has become in the past couple of weeks.
Theclaytons: I have no issue paying more. The challenge is the cost for an 80gb DSL plan costs $55 however 75gb RBI wireless will set you pack $150 / month. This does not seem comparable or fair to rural users. Kirwee is hardly rural in terms of the location or township.
Chorus does have a monopoly on copper broadband in rural areas.

Theclaytons: I'll write to whoever I can to get visibility on this, can you provide best contact at MBIE or Commerce Commission.
Theclaytons: I lodged a complaint with the commerce commission and have not had a response, not even an automated one. I may have to re lodge.
Chorus have said pay 75k and we can fix the problem. I'm in the process of attempting to source 75k through a number of sources but this will take time to sort.
To be honest, not sorted, not happy but still have hope. Where this is hope, there is a chance.
Wish me luck.
Theclaytons: Spec is out of date...
