sbiddle:

Regulation is the reason we have dimensioning - because the Commerce Commission wrote the rules.

So I was looking at UBA-Backhaul-STD-Schedule-1-Service-Description-23-December-2009 and saw this on page 10:

Downstream Traffic Policing – Handover Link There will be no downstream Traffic Management at the Handover Link. UBA Backhaul Service traffic will be accepted up to the line rate of the Handover Link.

So they do it at another node since tunnelling starts way downstream from the handovers anyway. Could be managed somewhere near the Juniper edge routers or something?

Time to find a new industry!

Yes, but more to reply to Mr Biddle... I don't think regulation is the reason why we had (and may have sometime on EUBA) dimensioning... the reason is Telecom Wholesale has decided on a artificial scarcity low volume high price business model. They would have found a loophole where they could apply it regardless.

I still think it won't happen (dimensioning on euba/hsns handover).
