Jase2985: transmit/receive power are both still the same at 14.5/-10.1dB

Interesting, Although logical as per DLM profiles.

Theres my shoot in the dark at the potential cause though!

I'm finally joining the 998 club! I was just writing my forum post and hit post reply then my line resynced again.
So What happened was I got 1 resync at 00:40 and it was an higher downstream bump and kept my DLM-1 profile, went from 60Mbps to 70Mbps.

Now It just did a resync again and I'm getting 70/25, which is great! more upstream woohoo! but I'm back down to a DLM-2/4 profile, I'm guessing that'll fix itself in the upcoming week/month, too bad Ikanos line card but oh well.

Curiously I have nothing in the US0 Band which is interesting... I wonder what happened there.

998 17a doesnt have US0 enabled, its the trade off somewhat.

US0 is realistically only a few mbit, so makes sense to cutback on it there.

Give it a week, you will be back down to DLM-1

The speed increases but the ping also increases by 10-15ms!

happened to pretty much everyone as you now start out on DLM-2 or DLM-4 and have to work your way back to DLM-1. where as on 997 you generally started out on DLM-1 and if you had a bad line it would drop you back to DLM-2 etc.

Our current 8B profile upgraded overnight. (I usually have 17A but that was lost through a port refresh so I'll be interested to see if I can eventually get back to that profile.)

Last night's 997 8B snapshot was...

Attainable: 48015000/16735000
Actual: 48000000/10356000
SNR: Near 11, Far 22
Attenuation: Near 9, Far 0
Ping 6ms

This morning with a 17ms Ping....

Sigh... DLM seems to be at work :(

Since our initial speed upgrade, we've now dropped down by around 10Mbps. It is now sitting at 57446 Kbps. Ping is a solid 20ms (on 997 we were getting ~7ms)

Current stats:
Line standard VDSL2
Downstream line rate (kbit/s) 57446
Upstream line rate (kbit/s) 13490
Downstream SNR (dB)  9.4
Upstream SNR (dB)  8.9
Downstream line attenuation (dB) 13.4
Upstream line attenuation (dB) 4.9
Downstream output power (dBmV) 18.5
Upstream output power (dBmV) -3.4
Downstream CRC 15
Upstream CRC 0
Downstream FEC 5562
Upstream FEC 573

70/13 on 8b is pretty impressive.

broadcom linecard so you would be open to the upto 100/50 once 17a comes back.

Mine is worst - dropped from 66 to 50! Not happy at all. I assume yours from 67 to 57?

Original sync speed on 998 was 68,264Kbps, so close enough to 10Mbps

chevrolux: Logged in to that Pharmacy with the flash connection... got quite a shock when I saw the rates....

Haven't been on site to actual test this but pretty dam impressive!! We were going to order UFB for this customer but being in a big MDU the hassle is just not worth it considering these rates.

Managed to get on site to actually test this connection out. I am extremely impressed!!!!!

Yes, I'm quite pleased with that result considering we are attached to a rural cabinet and that I estimate at least 350 - 380 meters of copper to the modem. Some advantages being good condition heavy duty rural copper and a lifestyle block area so I'm guessing low cross talk issues.

Looking forward to the prospect of 17A on 998 - Time will tell.

At that distance, so long as your wiring is good, you should go to 17a at some point.

Ping dropped back to 4ms (round trip), so I'm pretty happy with my 998 17a profile.
