Vectoring went live on Somerfield, Barrington Street Cabinet. at 1:50am 24th November.

No real world change since  the cabinet is at the end of the driveway  Fritzbox is still resyncing each day at 4am since then though.

The thing i find interesting is, chorus have once again changed the maximum figures for DSLAM's...

BKM exchange area, looks like all VDSL cabinets got the planned notification.

"Network Optimizations" i kinda missed that, often is the tag given to DSLAM reshuffling too.

Quick skim of a few addresses, looks like a few connections aren't too happy with the changes, overall still looking at about a 20% increase in downstream rates.

on the RSP end, Chorus still have a few kinks to work out of the platform they offer for trouble shooting (Vectoring reports differently, thus values get zerofilled for speeds and such)

I've been meaning to put out some results on vectoring, however awaiting a snafu with data from chorus to be sorted (Alternatively i need to logic out a full lookup to account for stable connections or the improvements don't do justice)

Being i now have a whole exchange area to work with, this may be a bit more clean.

Is the Kirwee exchange going to get Vectoring or do we have a time frame for when UFB2+ will be deployed?

No idea.

it has changed from 108 to 110Mbit down, so go figure?

As UFB is coming, it may not get it.

We have no rollout plan for Vectoring currently, Chorus are still 'Testing'

A bit OT but will all cabinet linecards eventually get upgraded?

I was just reading that Qualcomm acquired Ikanos and shut them down last year

Chorus are most of the way through a project to replace ever old ADSL 2+ / VDSL line card with a new VDSL vectoring one for every ISAM exchange and cabinet in the country. This does not include the legacy conklins and ASAMs which only offer ADSL 1.

This includes Chorus UFB areas and Chorus exchanges which are at this stage unlikely to see vectoring any time soon / ever.

There also removing port rings off exchanges as another project to eliminate any congestion on there network.

Chorus has under way a major project to remove most DSLAM rings from the access network, this project is
expected to last through till 2018. This project will remove the concentration of traffic that occurs on the first
port of the ring

Chorus are now reporting on any congestion on both there copper and fibre networks.

wait, are you saying chorus are actually upgrading the linecards in UFB areas, but just choosing not to turn vectoring on?...

There are about 400 BUBA only cabinets left of the 7000+ in total broadband ones.

Chorus were hoping to get RBI 2 funding but it appears they got none (but did get extra UFB funding)

I have asked what they plan to do, at this stage nothing.

I guess we will see down the track, Chorus will want to get ride of all of these old cabinets at some stage, some are already on fibre routes or fibre fed so those are not a huge task.

They have knocked a couple more off in the last few months and had a large project over the last 2 years post RBI 1 to upgrade over 100 with there own money.

Yes, I am not sure if the reason they replaced the cards was just because of vectoring.

In there fibre areas they want people to move off copper and onto UFB.

The actually have the right to withdrawal VDSL in UFB areas if they want. They can not remove ADSL.
