I had no problems having chorus look at my single jackpoint naked no filter installation. Just had to agree that if it was internal I would pay them for the call out. It wasnt of couse so no problems.

Weird! I had a 1:30am resync last night - no DLM changes that I can see, but my speeds jumped up by 1mbit to their highest ever! Maybe it was just line instability?

I'm back on 12 SNRM now - CRCs are looking pretty bad, but we'll see how we go!

We're moving house in a few weeks - to literally next door. It'll be interesting to see what the line conditions are!

Since mine's been looking nice and stable with target SNRM at 12 lately and others seem to be on DLM1 with higher error rates, I decided to try some proper SNR tweaking. Been on 9db all day now:

Nice!! This is an example of why we need to work out the max allowable DLM-1 error rate!

This is interesting. Since my mysterious 1:30am resync the other day, my error rates have almost doubled!

I am currently synced at my highest ever rate so maybe that has something to do with it.

Coffeebaron came over this morning and in 45 minutes had everything sorted out! I wasn't home so don't know what he did, but I'm assuming a VDSL master filter was needed.

Based on the first few days, I'm on DLM-6, so interested to see how things change over the next few days.

I didn't find a work sheet left for me, but it looks like a filter has been installed.

I guess I needed that filter for everything to work right. Now, I just have to deal with my impatience of waiting for a DLM change. It's the seventh day since installation and no change so far.

Now that you have your line issues sorted, it might be worth getting a DLM reset done on your line so that it can re-train based on your improved line.

FEC errors seem to be affected by one of the many settings we just dont see. When I turned on my VDSL connection for the first time I had FEC errors around 20k but over time they have dropped to 20pm and 92p15m.

I've also noticed although I'm stuck on DLM2 bitswap is now on all the time and ever on max performance my error rate is 0.1 I don't get why bitswap isn't on from the get go. I don't see any downside to it at all.

Right, I have made a discovery with regards to the upper limit of allowed CRCs on DLM-1. I have been on DLM-1 with a CRCPM of a little over 20 for the last 3 days. This morning I was re-synced to DLM-2.

I'm not sure what the odd 1:30am resync was 3 days about, but my sync rate went up by 1mbit and my errors doubled. I have found in the past that even a 1mbit sync rate change can make a large difference in error rates. Even now, on DLM-2, I'm still synced at 39mbit (same as when I was on DLM-1) and my errors are much higher than normal.

Can anyone else corroborate that?

I'm going to up my SNRM a bit to drop my sync rate and see if I can get my error rate down to an acceptable level.

EDIT: 20min after upping my SNRM to 13, the errors have dropped dramatically! My DS sync rate dropped by 2mbit as well!
