It seems ridiculous that we pay the same as towns nearby who have 100mb connections and no issues but we have ( as I understand it) 20 year old switches with no plans to upgrade.

Theclaytons: It would be better if the data caps were not restrictive....30Gb for $90 is not enough. I do not mind paying the $90, but i would hope to get 50gb or more....

I feel your pain...
Chorus will not spend their money upgrading their network, lost case there. I too am supportive of your cause and am surprised that kirwee missed out on that National govt announcement for additional towns oh that's right they have substantially better service than we have already.
If the Chorus network got that congested cause of a couple of people who got onto unlimited plans it does show how tight they are running things. With 3000 odd residents if you can get coverage within the area having a vdsl upgrade should be relatively easy, but if not vdsl don't bother.
