Hey @ssamjh, just wanted to hop on and say a general thanks for all the analysis you're doing!

At our early stage, it's hugely valuable for us to see real-world examples of what our network is doing. Our networks team has been checking your Smokeping periodically and rest assured we're taking the feedback of your results on board to improve the network even further! 🚀

Our goal with Quic Broadband is to give those who understand tech the ability to access the tools that ISPs usually only have access to themselves, as well as providing a brilliant network for all customers. Above all though, we want to be as open as we can and take on board all feedback.

Watch this space, we're dedicated to keep getting better! 😎

Happy that I can help. I'm always up to test out stuff and be a guinea pig so don't hesitate to reach out.

Chiming in to say that I'm also pretty happy so far.

2:46 pm - placed order.
4:04 pm - confirmation for cutover at 6pm
6:03 pm - service is live, text from chorus confirming.

Initial testing looks good, with the one issue that I can't get v6.

@quic - I have a Meraki MX plugged into the connection, which only supports PD when using DHCP.
With PPPoE it only does SLAAC or static, which is a shame.

Are y'all considering supporting DHCP in the future?

Two things in the minor annoyance bucket:
  - The "remember me" feature doesn't seem to work, I get logged out pretty quickly.
  - I can't tell if my Static IP is active, isn't showing up anywhere in the UI.

Hey!

  • Static IPv6: Not currently, but on the roadmap - what I can say on this is once released, the current Static IPv4 costs (either monthly or one-off) would then include the static IPv6 prefix too, rather than another cost.
  • Reverse DNS: This was brought up by someone else to us a few days ago too, and is something we're keen on offering. If a customer was to want custom rDNS/PTR, we can set this manually now (just message us). That being said, of course everything we do we're trying to automate as much as possible, and have added this as a feature request for our Infrastructure to investigate.
  • DHCP instead of PPPoE: Not currently sorry. We're aware of the desire for this, but currently our backend systems need to see the circuit terminate with PPPoE. However, we do support RFC4638, allowing customers to bring up their PPPoE client/dialer at 1500 MTU to prevent the usual packet fragmentation by having PPPoE at the default 1492.

Welcome on board @jbergler! 🙌

I've checked with the team on this one and got back the below. If this doesn't work, or you'd like me to sort a one-on-one with one of our techs to lend a hand, fire me a message here and we can go from there.

With DHCPv6-PD, you're getting a delegated subnet that you typically use to assign /64's on LAN interfaces.
Please try setting the IPv6 config on the WAN interface(s) to Auto, and configuring DHCPv6-PD on one or more LAN interfaces.
https://documentation.meraki.com/?title=MX%2FNetworks_and_Routing%2FIPv6_Support_on_MX_Security_%26_SD-WAN_Platforms_-_LAN

In regards to the other issues:
 - Remember me function not working - Thanks for the heads up, I've passed this on to our team to investigate!
 - Can't see if static IP is active - Completely agree, it was a bit hard to see as was hidden within a submenu! Ask and you shall receive, assigned IP addresses are now visible under the "Connection Information" section. Hop into your Quic portal, click into your connection and scroll down, should be there for you (and everyone) now!

Ordered over the weekend and the service was provisioned on Monday morning at 9:30am! VERY impressive.

Only feedback - two typos in the 'welcome' email:

Your connection at <address> will be going live 17/10 AM on port 1 of your ONT.

17/10 AM is not a time, I think it's a date (today) missing a time?
Additionally the service went live on Port 2 of the ONT. The text from Enable, and the ONT diagnostics page confirmed that. So not sure what went wrong.

Either way I am impressed so far, and am looking forward to recommending your service.

My emails had some quirks too with the port info, I’d guess the templates don’t check for missing data.

Your connection at $address will be going live 10/10 6PM on port of your ONT.

And then a few min later

Your connection at $address will be going live 10/10 6PM on port 1 of your ONT.

Interesting! Thanks for the feedback @naggyman and @jbergler (and welcome on board! 🥰)

Agreed AM is not a time, however depending on the LFC, we may not get a fixed time and only get AM or PM (this is most common with Enable & TFF where we only get an AM or PM slot/window), however the port definitely should have been right so something must be a little off here. I've already reached out to our team to investigate this one.

As always, appreciate all of your feedback and looking forward to providing you all a great experience going forward!

Fair, I totally get that your hands are tied by the LFC.

Maybe tweak the message to say "in the morning of 17/10/22" so that it is clearer.

Just before I lodge a fault (finally had a chance to hook a router up today) I want to sense check - these provisioned CIRs and EIRs seem wrong?

The committed values should be at least 2.5 Mbps?

If they don't use VLAN tagging then there will be no CIR.

0.33 and 0.11 units for the profile look like they should be Gbps.

My UNI is untagged, but I have a CIR - this is what mine looks like
