When people learn how to use BBCODE, or how to click the icons in the rich text editor?

bbcode is not hard, but I have gotten lazy. All I have to do almost anywhere else is to cut and paste the url. In WordPress it even embeds videos, twitter messages etc. for me just via the url.

And its one of the things I keep getting wrong when posting here, having to put the url tags around the url.

So it would be sooo sweet to have

I CAN use BBCode, but it's a PITA to type them when I should be able to just copy and paste a url. It makes me less likely to contribute.

I have been told off here for posting youtube URLS as URL's as opposed to youtube tags, but I don't like youtube videos embedded in replies, it personally annoys me.

rossmnz: PeterReader has become self-aware and has actually taken over VF.

Buying out TC was his first step in eliminating all threats so that he is not terminated.

The announcement is that Geekzone is being renamed Cyberdynezone.

Awesome!

[OffTopic] I had a robocan that became self aware, it emptied an entire new can into the lounge in less than an hour. I think it was trying to kill me [/OffTopic]

oohhhhhh Off Topic BBcode tags

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

If you copy the URL from the address bar the editor will automatically hyperlink. If you right-click/copy from a page it will not.

Because people said they couldn't use the image button in the editor (lazy). Ok, there's no editor in the quick reply box and asking people to enter img src tags is a bit too much, so we've added BBCODE support.

But even then people are still too laze to use it. So it stays as it is until the time comes I have some other stuff out of the way - Unicode support, new TinyMCE editor version (CDN and cache friendly), and other stuff that are in the queue.

+1 Please please pretty please with sugar on top!

I don't understand why this would be a pre-requisite? Other sites have no requirement for this in order to have the ability for the editor to understand that a url is a url and make it a clickable link?

A bit late to the party but this one I think is logical in these days as well

Obviously Geekzone users (and specifically those who post in this thread) will be invited to be the official testers in NZ for Google Glass.

Even if it's free, not sure if it's something I would want to wear in public...

Well not sure what it could be I must admit I skipped a few pages lol but ultimately interested to hear what it is especially when linked to new tech / deals from ISP's as I don't know too many people who are not looking for a little extra here and there.

Here's hoping this may be it.

Some sort of crowdsourced (I guess whatever it is this will be a given) performance monitoring\measurement system across GZ members' net connections?
