Perhaps an interesting comparison here would be "mean per speed band" in week before vectoring turned on vs mean for week starting say 2 weeks after vectoring turned on. Sort of like the plot below (except that uses your peak numbers) but for much narrower speed bands (say <10, 10-21, 20-30 ... 90-100, 100+). Again speed band based on speed before. Good to see both DL and UL curves plotted?

Plotted as above, the no improvement seen on your lowest end of connections (and at the top) does not show up

Overall, they do not look big changes, especially if only DL is seeing improvement :(

Will see what i can do.

Splitting the groups up too much, gets a little tight.

In the second set of DSLAM's going live, i have far more data to play with.

There overall isn't a Massive gain, but then there never was going to be - Not everyone has perfect wiring.

Gains are in places like error rates etc, Which i couldn't really pull into for this due to the mentioned issues on chorus's end for data.

@DS248 Little insight into this; Digging into a fare few examples today and why the expectations aren't as impressive.

I've noticed things are falling into a few categories.

status quo, stick to same target snrs (generally were pegged lines OR already at 6dB)
drop straight down to 6dB with massive gains
revert to 12dB with minor improvements or even slow downs.

Also come across a few that soon as the changes were done, Heavy disconnections started so certainly got to dig into those and pass it back to chorus were relevant.

I'm toying with a few examples now to see if they revert to 12dB through ddDLM or if maybe they were just in some sort of limbo profile.

Been holding off on posting much on the BKM lines as honestly, the results I'm impressed with but many have said the numbers just dont stack up to what they have expected.

Now that i've got the data in hand to be able to drill down into underlying details, Figure it's the right time to point this out.

Following Vectoring going live, this particular line (was totally picked from random in the starting out at sub25mbit band) has gone from 22mbit to 29mbit; Now it isn't the healthiest of lines - i would go as far as to say it's a very unhealthy line that i would be keen on sorting out.

Overall disconnections on this line were not improved, however the line itself looks to have a wet contact... Looking under the hood, the errors on the line have gone to almost non existent which is honestly the more exciting stage.

I'm personally not a fan of the way the results have been presented. No line is showing a speed of over 110mbit in our large subset of the examples.

Chorus never said it was, but did slip it in there.

G.INP was not activated on the ADSL lines.

G.INP + Vectoring in my findings digging into error rates is the biggest gain of all.

i would still love for @ChorusNZ to explain why their release is comparing physical sync rates before to attainables after.. Since the 108/110Mbit sync limit is still there.

looks to me more like a spraycan effect..... but dammmm 44-160!?!?!?!

Still keen to see a boost in upstream performance on longer lines. It's seems more people are moving off ADSL these days to wireless due to the 1Mbps upstream. If Chorus can't push the upstream speed up on longer lines, 2-3km; then they are going to continue to lose customers who are more than 1-2km from cabinet / exchange.

I'm doing more and more RBI installs for people that are just outside VDSL coverage, but could have perfectly capable ADSL2+.

Maybe ANNEX-M for VDSL??

Got quite a few clients on that cabinet, incl one I've got a DV130 on and have access to stats - not a Spark connection though sorry. :( Still unsure about the DV130 being fully compatible with G.INP?

Do you know if Chorus are still on track to have all cabinets on before the end of the year? Not a lot of time left that's for sure...

I think a small part of the area this cabinet covers will be getting fibre (only a very small area) so I hope it is getting Vectoring...

Make sure you are running Modem 4 firmware on your DV130
This Firmware supports Vectoring and G.INP, STD firmware doesn't support vectoring as far as I can tell
Most folk would assume to use STD firmware as finding what to use in NZ is not easy to find.

Chorus has already confirmed vectoring not this year, early next year now

I heard Chorus were parking G.IMP for a while until the issues with some CPE are sorted. I think there was a small percentage of CPE that didn't come back.
