Kyanar: Just gave this a shot myself. A few problems...
freitasm:Kyanar: Fourth, is there seriously a point to the "TV" option? As soon as you tick a box you eliminate all options except Sky TV anyway.
I'd guess in select markets "TV option" will probably bring up TelstraClear TBox.

Third, I see no way to tell the site that I am not interested in Prepay, so I end up manually discarding half the results.
HadynGreen:Sorry I can't replicate that either.
HadynGreen: Obviously though they weren't as tough as you guys :)
HadynGreen:geekwannabe:michaelmurfy: I am with Telecom for everything - and do heaps of mobile calling (approx 650mins per month) - it recommended me the 2* $29 Monthly Plan with 100mb of Mobile Broadband (I use about 1.2gb per month) ugh.
Total fail.
I am also with Telecom and when I tried it the "best: suggestion came in at $128 more than I currently pay. So I filtered to Telecom only and that best suggestion came in at $130 more than I am paying.
Checking thru - when I said I use
Sorry I can't replicate that either.
HadynGreen: Our system relies heavily on the generosity of the telcos. We do not go and get the information from their sites, we rely on them to tell us what they offer and to verify it when we have entered it into our database.
HadynGreen:Perhaps a dating system like Don suggests above would work, we can only look to improve
DonGould:HadynGreen: Obviously though they weren't as tough as you guys :)
Tough :) now there's an interesting choice of words... I would have gone with 'thorougher'.

Hummm... so they can't edit it directly?
As for 'generosity'... you're kidding right? From where I stand you're giving the market a free marketing tool. Depending on how much you guys promote this exercise (like you did with the power site), this is a truck load of promotion for providers isn't it?

Since the tool is purely about price, it’s only really worthwhile as a free marketing tool for providers if they happen to be the cheapest (assuming of course that it works at all).

Sorry I can't replicate that either.
Actually you are missing (cut off should I say) the point of the sentence - I found where most of the difference in pricing was - It calculated the 100mb I use on my mobile at $1.00 per mb.
The other variables take into account that the system cannot recognise features like On Onebill & Freedom as valid packages or that the lowest option for Texting is 1-100 or I won't send any.
Guess I should have picked I won't send any for a more accurate result & manually added the few I do at 20c a text
HadynGreen: [Yeah I don't know what happened there, I didn't cut off your sentence the quote tool did. In any case I still couldn't replicate your issue. ie. "It calculated the 100mb I use on my mobile at $1.00 per mb."
Can you please tell me what you entered so I can see what might be going on?
