Well, looks like you're on DLM-1! Errors are very good as well.

Your sync speed isn't as good as I think it could be tho. Were you going to do any wiring changes?

Sounds encouraging, thanks Sam.

I'm going to request for a master splitter install via my ISP as soon as possible.

splitter installs are pretty easy to do yourself if you want to save $400!

I agree, that's DLM-1 but the sync rate looks low. It's only 2MBps higher than when you were on DLM-6. I'd leave it a couple of days and then do a resync as it might just be a sub-par sync (which does seem happen sometimes). Don't do too many resyncs though as we think that's a factor in DLM kicking people off DLM-1.

I think your modem is not reporting the attenuation correctly. I don't think it could ever be 0 measured in 0.1db increments. What was your attenuation on ADSL?

Thanks for the feedback Steve!  When I was on ADSL My attenuation was 3 down and 2 up. I've had VDSL now for 2 weeks and the attenuation has been 0 since the start. Done a few power cycles but it never changes.

Yeah, your latest attenuation figure is definitely incorrect then. You can expect 5-7db downstream attenuation rate for VDSL based on your previous ADSL figures. Is there a firmware update you could try applying for your router? This might resolve the issue.

That sounds pretty close to my connection which showed 2 db on ADSL, 4-5 db on VDSL 8b and 6-7 db on VDSL 17a. On 8b DLM-1 I was typically getting around 44-45 Mbps sync. So I think your sync is definitely a bit low. Let us know if the master filter makes any difference when you get it installed.

Nice! It may well go up from there too. If not you can always do some extra tweaking :)

@cokeman2 - you might want to start a new thread for that. Most people who frequent this thread will be on VDSL so won't have an ADSL line to test on. Have you add the "no checks"setting at the top of the file though?

In SamF's first post read the section "Increasing Sync Speeds" it has the instructions including adding "NoChecks=yes" at the top of the file so the Fritzbox will actually load it once modified... I don't think the exported file from the fritzbox ever has this, so you will need to add it each time you export and modify the file. Or just save a copy to your harddrive and use at as your baseline.

Taking another angle on this, you have some SERIOUS line issues there mate! I think if you get those sorted you'll get much better results than simply reducing your SNRM!

probably true, but all i did was swap my telecom Technicolor router to fritzbox  (went from maxnet to snap not that should have any issues )  telecom connected at 3400-3300 kbits/s while fritz is at  2800-3100 ....
i have got a direct broadband connection  to my house (no filters) ... dont know what else i can do with the line issues anymore....

i did put the  NoCheck = yes still no deference still at 12 ..might start another thread or just give up lol
