BarTender: I heard Chorus were parking G.IMP for a while until the issues with some CPE are sorted. I think there was a small percentage of CPE that didn't come back.

Also heard mention of this, Seems to actually be on a line by line basis though.

Checking a few lines I'm still seeing it, looks like possibly the REIN side of it is turned off.

Alright, Chorus seem to have finished the flood for awhile - I wrote the previous post as the inital 2 hit, then more started coming so had to hold off.

Looking at the following expected dates!

Interesting ones for me, are the Exchange fed DSLAM's. to date i'm yet to see this deployed on any exchange due to unbundling etc...

This may be a dumb question, but I read through the thread and don't think I saw anything --- what impact (if any) is this likely to have on ADSL lines (particularly longer ones?). I'm on the end of a long (3km+) line from an exchange. We saw downstream jump from ~4Mbps to ~6Mbps after the DDLM changes, but always keen to get it higher given RBI is not quite there for us yet ;)

Some / many exchanges are unbundled (UCLL) capable but no ISP has actually unbundled at it.

I also noted that when Chorus rolled out BBIP (Baseband IP) to some exchanges on the East Cape they removed the option to order UCLL (they didn't have anyone with UCLL at them at the time).

Interesting in that list some cabinets overlap with existing UFB coverage and at least one is in a UFB 2+ area.

Glad about that, one cabinet around here in that situation so that is very hopeful.

Likely to make no, or extremely minor improvements from my understanding.

This was the snr dropping part of ddDLM. Vectoring won't really help ADSL - it may potentially limit the affect of crosstalk but that's all.

Fair point, I didn't realize chorus were dropping UCLL products where they have rolled BBIP.

Honestly UCLL is kinda an ugly beast anyway....

I am pretty sure we will see UCLL go between 2020 and 2025.

Just like large parts of the copper network at some stage in the 2020's

Yep, at the time for consumers it was a great thing, but now that chorus's stepped up their offering It's mainly a bonus for the owners of the gear ;)

Do Chorus have a schedule on their website anywhere? i can't seem to find it, I'd love to know when my area is getting the upgrade.

I'm in a rural town (Lumsden) with vdsl2 but not getting fibre so I should be on their to-do list.

They appear to be upgrading far more than just the bare minimum.

The vectoring toggle simply won't happen on excluded areas.

Atleast in these the 70/30 limit will be no more.
