If he had had one though, the upstream wouldn't be that high.

That's just the wifi bottlenecking a gigabit plan.

Has this gone live? I'm getting 300 down and 100 up on Bigpipe this morning. Kind of moot because I'm moving over to gigabit with Skinny later this week.

2degrees fiber in Wellington is the same speed as it's always been.

The change has happened to me on Voyager.

Really happy with that.

Makes sense, as Chorus started the upgrade last Friday. "As communicated last month these changes are scheduled to begin Friday 19 November and complete on Wednesday 1 December"

Looks like most users should be upgraded in the first week "Boost Evolve 100-20-2.5-2.5 UFB and Small Business Fibre 100-100-2.5- 2.5 Customers".

As the week 2 boost is "Boost Evolve 100-20-2.5-2.5 RBI and non-UFB, and Evolve 100-100-2.5- 2.5 Customers"

Same, on Bigpipe in Wellington.

It seems like a FWP, and the novelty will last literally two or three speed tests but weirdly excited this is happening …

Quite tempting to drop down from gigabit and save the twenty bucks per month once this is rolled out fully

Me too, although I dunno what Spark are charging (or if they're even doing this - I can't see the plan on their website).

I'm half upgraded here on 2 degrees in Dunedin. Sitting on 100/100 at the moment.
Better than the 100/20 I had last week so no complaints so far.

And before your ask I've rechecked the Cables - they are all Cat 5e (and the network connections/Fritzbox are stating all 1Gbps connections)
 - anyway I downgraded from Gigabit earlier in the year so know it's definitely not me :)

Just pleased it's coming soon...

We are indeed upgrading the Chorus side like crazy at the moment (all of this weekend, this week and next weekend.)
RSPs have their own planning to work through for their upgrades, so I can't comment on that.

It does make sense that for some RSPs you might see the upstream increase as we update the Chorus network, then when the RSP does their side the downstream direction will be unlocked.  But, that won't always be the case.

Cheers!

Upgrade happened overnight for me, sometime between 4 and 5am. Voyager Auckland.

Very happy.

2degrees Wellington, my upload has increased to about 100Mbps :) Nice free upgrade. If the download jumps a bit at some point, great, but the upload is the main thing for backups.
