think its worth noting the difference between 17a and 8b there...

You're using login.lua and then getting the sid from the redirect to the home page? I've got login working using webcm in perl so I'm curious about what's changed with the new firmware. I take the webcm stuff is gone?

Thanks for working all this stuff out by the way.

I think we need a little more info. I've added the profile and the SNRM target (for those that have adjusted it).

yep, the xml page for login was removed.. replaced with the lua page, if you do some googling on fritzbox login.lua, you will come across a few scripts a few have done up, basicly handling the changes in that.. once i commit all the changes ill stick up a link to my git showing it all if you want.

only problem with distance, is unless the user asks snap or such, its purely assumptions on the copper length..

isnt there a post somewhere from the truenet guy (gone blank of his name) where at his distance his line is getting higher than most.. ill have to find the link when im back on my pc.

I don't think we should share sync rates as it just makes me jealous ;)

Attenuation, Distance, Sync, Profile, DLM, CRCPM, SNRMT
SamF: 9db, 350m, 50mbit, 8b, 1, 2.5, ?
HowickDota: 6db, 150m, 62.8mbit, 17a, 1, 0.3, ?
SteveH: 6db, 130m, 69144, 17a, 2, 0.03, 10
JamesL: 12-13db, 400m, 34.2mbit, 8b, 1, ?, ?

Can only guess attentuation because the Zyxel seems to report per band and total attenuation doesn't match my distance from the cabinet

The original intention of this was to gather untweaked line stats, but we could do both I guess, could be useful for future reference.

I assume by '10', you mean 1db?  Also, do you have your untweaked stats?

Added a few historical cases for me. Might be interesting to look at how variable the syncs are.

Attenuation, Distance, Sync, Profile, DLM, CRCPM, SNRM

SteveH: 4db, 130m, 47968, 8b, 1, 3, 10
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 44720, 8b, 1, 0.87, 11
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 44720, 8b, 1, 0.52, 11
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 43872, 8b, 1, 0.82, 12 (Intended SNRM up 1db)
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 42296, 8b, 1, 0.14, 13 (Intended SNRM up 2db)
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 49576, 8b, 1, 6, 5 (weird sync with very low SNRM)
SteveH: 5db, 130m, 50608, 8b, 1, 19, 11 (another weird sync though SNRM is normal)
SteveH: 6db, 130m, 58616, 17a, 1, 0.08, 14 (Intended SNRM up 2db)
SteveH: 6db, 130m, 69144, 17a, 2, 0.03, 10

As hio77 said the distance is really just guesswork.

SNRM is what the Fritz reports as "Signal-to-noise ratio" on the DSL tab. The target is 12db (unless you've changed "Intended signal-to-noise ratio" on the Line Settings tab on DownstreamMarginOffset in the config file. When I was on 8b it would often be lower than 12db though.

Right, gotcha, sorry misunderstood what you meant by SNRM in that context. Ok, in that case let's just add SNRMT for SNRM Target and use a +/- notation as below. Could everyone please confirm what I've put there for your figures?

Attenuation, Distance, Sync, Profile, DLM, CRCPM, SNRM, SNRMT

By 10 I mean SNRM is 10db according to the DSL tab. I have DownstreamMarginOffset set to -20.

I think it's important to capture the SNRM whether it's been tweaked or not - I've seen a number of syncs with weird SNRM and it massively impacts sync rate.

I will add mine in here now as well then.

8dB, 200M, 55856, 17a, 0.02, 0, 12

I believe this is right 12 being the SNR?

distance figure is reportedly pretty accurate..

seems this pulls its information directly from the dslam.. theres an option for CRC error rate limits.. currently its sitting there, polling i suppose.. looks like its certainly a new menu to play with :D

well, seems that was short lived.. it stopped responding to commands it would seem after trying to see the CRC threshold option..

so just noticed.. not sure if its related, but my FECs have rapidly increased..
