Hi there,

I'm wondering, are we able to get the Fiber service at our address? I ran the Chorus rollout map tool www.chorus.co.nz/maps and I see our area is light blue. The tool is not that clear. Are we able to currently get UFB at this stage, and also how much are the install fees? Also, what Auckland based ISPs have fibre plans at the moment? We are on Slingshot, and if we could transfer our all you can eat plan to fibre that would be awesome!

Thanks

Light blue areas are where UFB will eventually be installed. Dark blue areas are where UFB is installed, or will be within the next year. You can add and remove layers using the check boxes on the top right hand corner of the map to make it clearer which zone your address falls into.

I think install fees will be on a case by case basis. The only Auckland based ISP that I'm aware has released its UFB plans at this stage is Orcon.

Use the Chorus Service availability tool instead, that will show you which services can been connected to you

http://www.chorus.co.nz/sat

There's also a list of all the fibre cabinets etc and when they will be put live on this page:

http://www.chorus.co.nz/network-build-update

I think light blue on the tool you linked to means that you're within the Chorus area and you will get fibre from them sometime before the rollout is finished (possibly in 2019 or something). If you select the different layers (UFB Year 1 and UFB Year 2) that will give you an idea of where the rollout is going near you.

For those in the areas covered by Ultrafast Fibre Ltd, Hamilton, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Wanganui and nearby towns there is a web tool here : www.ultrafast.co.nz/coverage that will give an indication of when service will become available.
