Just wondering if anybody has had any resolution to their "Go Large" issues.

Personally I dont care about max speeds etc etc, I just want an acceptable latency, cause it kinda sucks that I have this shiny new dsl connection (been without a fixed line for 2 years) and I am still having to fall back to my woosh modem to get any sort of stable ping in World of Warcraft.

Spoke to Xtra support desk and they say they are working on the issue, so anyone seen improvements over the last couple of days.

I really am looking forward to dsl again, but hoping for sub 500ms pings not 8000ms pings

I take it that you're connecting to an international server to play?

I've just tested out my copy of CS and am able to connect to an local NZ server with 70ms ping. A little higher than usual but still within acceptable ranges... and faster than the 100ms ping I got while on Orcon.

Yeah, international server, I get a nice 500ms ping on the dsl plan we have here at work (no idea what plan other than it is through Xtra)

But sounds good, will have to give it another run tonight.

Also there was a topic a while ago which suggested the 125.xxx.xxx.xxx address's were the "naughty" pool, I have one of these address's from date of sign up, is this fact or rumor?

I've got one of those addresses as well and a few other people (in IRC)  on Go Large have also got those addresses.

Without going into too much detail it would be a safe guess that people on Go large have been put into a different IP group. Whether or not its the 'fair usage' group, I cannot say/tell.

I've just trying doing some pings on a few servers I use over seas and get ~200ms pings now... however I do expect it to get higher when demand increases (peak time).

No Resolution Yet for me,

Ive talked to Xtra Helpdesk a few times now, i asked about the 125 Range last time i called,
they have told me that the "naughty pool" isnt actually ready/deployed/online yet,

Who knows if its true or not.

I am not even GoLarge but just on a 2M plan with Ihug, and somehow I became a victim of people having max speed around me and I get about 250Kbps during very peak hours...

Xtra was on TV1 news about the slow speeds and they didn't say much but saying that over like 60% of New Zealand thats on Xtra is getting the fast speeds but I tend to disagree because everyone I know thats on Xtra has had problems with Xtra's speeds so I think they are just making the figure up or something.

Most of my friends that I know of are based in Hawkes Bay or Palmerston North.... so if they're experiencing good/bad results - the rest of the country are the same?
Damn that media for lying.

Yes, but saying that everyone you know has a slow connection when they are refering to 60% of the country and you DON'T know 60% of the country is pointless. The results of such a thing are biased in many ways.

You said you disagreed with Xtras claim of 60%, and that they are "just making the figure up" BECAUSE everyone YOU talked to was having problems.

Thats pretty clear in black and white up there.
