Is anyone else getting high latency at the moment? I'm playing WoW, where I've consistently had 155-160 ms (west coast US) and am currently getting nearly 350 ms. I'm also finding that foreign sites are responding slowly. Speed tests within NZ seem to be normal.

Is anyone else having trouble? Aside from the DNS issues at launch, this is the first problem I've had with Fyx.

Where is the spike in high latency occuring if you do a traceroute?

Typical... it's laggy for an hour, then a few minutes after posting it returns to normal. I'll post back if it happens again.

Edit: Just saw your post (you typed it while I was doing mine), I'll look up the server IP and do a trace if it comes back. My original post was more of "is anyone else having trouble?" :)

Getting terrible speeds internationally on Maxnet, do they share the same infrastructure as Fyx?

Definitely something wrong with Maxnet international at the moment, local sites are lightening quick but am struggling to even load Google.

It's happening again, even worse now. ~3000 ms to WoW. Traceroute isn't bad though:

Sunday night and the international latency is really bad again.

Nearly the same time as reported problems last night.

Is someone hogging all the international bandwidth?

Or is Maxnet overselling Fyx ?

It's back to normal for me, but as noted above that's already happened once so who knows how long it'll last?

Edit: Bah, it's creeping up again...

Hi everyone

Just letting you know that there is a problem with one of our firewalls. This may be causing these intermittent issues.

I'll be speaking to the team shortly and will give you an update when I find something out.

I've checked all backhaul routes, domestic, transit and international graphs, and we are running well under-utilized, so everything normal.

Thanks Andrew, it's good to see that this isn't falling on deaf ears :) (unlike my previous ISP!)

We are currently investigating what caused it and will do what we can to eliminate the issue. We are seeing some unusual traffic patterns, but it doesn't look like it is enough to cause such latency increases.

At this stage, we can confirm;

1. It isn't an attack of some sort
2. It isn't related to Firewall changes
3. It is not related to DSL related traffic increases

If those of you who have posted could let me know if you are using FYX or Maxnet Unlimited, that would be great (mainly because they are new to market, and I want to ensure what I've created is top-notch!)
