So around 2 weeks ago chorus was up our street doing some work on the lines as there is a new section being subdivided and a new phone line put in. The phone lines for our group of houses comes out of the ground and up a post to then spreads to various houses. The pole was replaced as it looked like it was about to collapse from rot. New lines were run to all the houses. They also dug a trench across the road to the new section and now there is a small green box with letters and no. on it. (no idea what it is)
During the install the chorus technicians failed to tell us phone lines would be down for a few hours. Two days in a row.
Anyway after chorus left I was curious to see if the new line would mean an increase in download speed for us. Seems like it was the complete opposite. We have a truenet router so I had a look at before and after. After chours's work our speed has dropped nearly a whole Mb/s from 13.6 to 12.7. Any ideas why?
