Just upgraded to VDSL on full flavour and looking good at this stage - will keep updating as we continue testing.

We are about 50 meters from the exchange from the router stats attenuation shows at 0 right now and latency at 8ms, the connection went live only a few hours ago.

Hello... Our robot found some keywords in your post, so here is an automated reply with some important things to note regarding broadband speeds.

If you are posting regarding DSL speeds please check that

- you have reset your modem and router

- your PC (or other PCs in your LAN) is not downloading large files when you are testing

- you are not being throttled by your ISP due to going over the monthly cap

- your tests are always done on an ethernet connection to the router - do not use wireless for testing

- you read this topic and follow the instructions there.

Make sure you provide information for other users to help you. If you have not already done it, please EDIT your post and add this now:

- Your ISP and plan

- Type of connection (ADSL, ADSL2, VDSL)

- Your modem DSL stats (do not worry about posting Speedtest, we need sync rate, attenuation and noise margin)

- Your general location (or street)

- If you are rural or urban

- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin

- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service

- If you have done an isolation test as per the link above

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

I recommend you read these two blog posts:

- Is your premises phone wiring impacting your broadband performance? (very technical)

- Are you receiving a substandard ULL ADSL2+ connection from your ISP?

splitter installled? speeds look a tad low for the distance and attention.

worth mentioning if you have the innbox v50u, it appears to have a firmware bug in which it doesnt display attention correctly

would seem your on DLM-1 although ild expect the ping to be lower, otherwise your ping would be in the ~16ms range. unless any chances have been done to DLM profiles recently..

I love it how everyone jumps on a master filter - it's to a new single jack point with nothing else off it.

The innbox may very well be not displaying attenuation correctly.

As for the profile - as it's only been installed a few hours ago it perhaps is on a more conservative profile while the DLM takes place - as I understand it sometimes it can take a week to select the preferred profile?

Can't be DLM-1 with a 8ms latency.

DLM-1 1ms 0INP
DLM-2 8ms 0INP
DLM-4 8ms 1INP *9
DLM-6 8ms 2INP
DLM-3 16ms 0INP
DLM-5 16ms 1INP
DLM-7 16ms 2INP
DLM-8 16ms 4INP

source

Not unless you mean 8ms to the BRAS/LNS/First Hop.

Maybe the stats page will help.

its not a jump to the filter, its a your speed didnt look right, maybe theres some interference.

you have a single jack, so clearly thats not the case.

thats 8ms each way, and so you're a minimum of 16ms before the distance to the hop, and so the latency doesn't line up.
of course very likely to be a flash based speedtest derp..

yup, speedtest derp, DLM-6.. should be in for some improvements ild expect your sync to be a bit higher consider your only 50M away none the less.

As this a new connection the Innbox V50-U should be running the latest release of firmware (which we've had in production for approx 2 weeks).

If you suspect there is a bug still (even with the latest firmware) let our helpdesk know and we'll look into it.

Customers speedtest (factoring in a margin for overhead) shows he is near maxing out his line speed, so best to wait for DLM to kick-in. No guarantees though.

maxing out the line speed yes, i just would have expected a single jackpoint 50M from the cabinet to be a little better on first sync.

if the attention bug is fixed, great. i recall Damagers? innbox V50u showing no attention when indeed it turned out he did have an attention higher than 0. not too long ago..

Speedtest just can't utilise the fully connection speed.

Get a well seeded torrent going and you will see some sweet speeds.

Quite happy with the speeds, just simply an informational thread as there is not a lot of info found online about full flavour however at this stage I can say i'm quite happy.

Thanks everyone for the input - will be interesting to see how the dlm goes, but as I say, even if it stays as it is it's about double the throughput of my ADSL connection and 10X upload.

Keep in mind too, 50m from cabinet does not always = 50m of cable. This can take a route up and the street etc, so you could be further away cable wise.

35Mbps looks a bit low only 50m from the cabinet. I am a lot further then 50m and:

speed test

I have had >40 Mbps from day 1.

Are you guys going to announce a vdsl price drop this month?
