No reason why, just got curious and counted different email providers around our user base (as of 14th March 2014):

  • Gmail: 17355
  • Hotmail: 13292
  • Yahoo: 9625
  • Xtra: 3508
  • IHUG: 730
  • Paradise: 645
  • Orcon: 626
  • Comcast: 567
  • Vodafone: 349
  • Verizon: 105
  • Outlook: 86
  • Snap: 76
  • AT&T: 60
  • Lycos: 52
  • Mailcity: 7
It seems people around here are are using more and more third-party email providers. Good.

Outlook and Hotmail same thing aren't they?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I am guessing Mauricio just look at the domain names for the email addresses. So own domains on Google Mail or Office 365/Outlook would not be counted as such.

Correct.

And it's not "Comcast 1%" as pointed out, because we have around 80,000 registrations at the moment, so a bit less. I just listed the ones I thought of while collecting the numbers.

That puts them at about 0.7% still way higher than I would have expected.

Ah, so I'm not going crazy after all. "I'm sure that Comcast was 5th in the list a moment ago!"

I'm surprised Hotmail > Yahoo.

I love my Yahoo account.

No disrespect to present company but who uses their "best" address registering on forums?
