I have just become aware that when I changed from adsl (vf) to fibre (full flavour) that my landline number had not been cancelled with vf.

When querying the charge I was advised that there had been no notice of disconnection to vf.

Who would be responsible for this? Full Flavour or myself? I'm awaiting their reply on this, but I'd expect them to sort this to bring the number across.

I arranged disconnection of my internet plan with vf, as I went live on fibre, but there was a short period before our landline went live with them.

Cheers.

Are they providing you with a VoIP service and if so are they porting the number?

If not I'd expect you to contact VF, since the move to fibre isn't a service transition, it's a whole new product.

I retained the number I had through vf & it is VoIP ( cordless phone plugged directly to router)

And to add to what Steve said. If you were moving to Vodafone's fibre then Vodafone would disconnect your adsl broadband. Otherwise they would have no idea of what you were doing.

Yep. I arranged that myself. But as I was wanting to retain my landline number, I'd expect a request would have to be made to my current provider.

I think you are going to need to move to a new voip provider as I think the Vodafone voip solution requires broadband with them. So unless you want to keep on paying for dsl just for you phone line then more work is needed. I suspect moving your voip line to wxc or to 2talk will be the best plan but you will need a new ata device. Personally my view is for ease of setup and reliable product wxc is the way to gom

If your number has been ported it would have been automatically disconnected by VF.

Are you still paying for this line now? If so is the POTS line still active?

I can confirm the number was successfully ported to Full Flavour. This is Vodafone's responsibility to sort out their billing.

I will probably need an exact date of change over so I can go back to vf. I have sent an email to you, so will carry on from there.

I was more querying whose responsibility for giving notice.

I was still paying for it until today. Have never checked if POTS still active.

I've replied with the date. I'd be very surprised if Vodafone don't refund you - it's their mistake.

It may depend on Vodafone's t&c's.... they may require 1 billing cycle's notice so the OP may end up paying one extra months rental even though they don't have any services with Vodafone due to how the contract is written. Could be wrong (and am frequently :).. but may not be. Time to check the agreement and/or chase back up with Vodafone.

PM me your old landline number and account number, Ill check for a churn notification from FFM. If you are moving from xDSL to fibre no churn will be sent and 90% of the time no one tells us or the loosing provider and they end up with a big bill that they are responsible for. I am assuming you never told VF?

Cheers

If someone advises of disconnection and the order is placed through to disconnect before the 1st of next month then they will be pro rated for xyz usage.. If they disconnect without notice with in the same billing month they are charged for the full month.

The end customer. We may receive a churn notification but as always to be on the safe side notify the ISP prior to this preferably on the previous billing cycle so you dont get charged the whole month.

Sending pm with details. I had already arranged for adsl to be cancelled. This is purely for home line rental & attached services.
