Hi
i currently have ADSL with Flip at a shed that i rent for work but would like to upgrade to VDSL i am 99% sure that VDSL is available at the shed the problem is nobody knows the correct address for the shed and Flip can not do anything without it and that seems fair enough to me im not having a go at flip i know it is not their fault or problem

i know that when we had ADSL connected to the shed a chorus tech had to come back and ping the line from the building as the address that the landlord gave us was incorrect and he does not know the correct one

so my question is if i can get my ASID number will i be able to get the address from that and if so how should i go about getting the ASID?

Thanks
Jonathon

Flip should have that since they are your current ISP?

Yes you can check VDSL availability using just the ASID. Also you can find the address using the ASID.

But this is weird though, why doesn't Flip have your address in the first place? Also why don't they have your ASID?

Hi i dont know if they have the ASID or not but the address thing is a long story but the short one is that the shed i rent is on the back of a property that on one street but the shed is accessed via another street and i remember that the chorus tech said we are on the street that the shed i accessed by and not the street that the main building on the property is on and i should of got the number from the chorus tech when he was here but i forgot and nobody else know the address there is no mailbox the landlord and also the power company does not know.
the shed has its own power meter and phone line

(Edit when we signed up with flip we used an address that the landlord gave us but it turned out to be completely wrong that is why the chorus tech had to come back and sort it out)
Thanks

Since you're currently their customer, they must have your ASID. And you only need the ASID (and not the address) to change plan from ADSL to VDSL.

Plus they can run a line test using your ASID in the Chorus SPM tool that will tell if you can get VDSL or not.

If you're on a UCLL connection with Flip you won't necessarily have an ASID.

As far as I understand it, ASIDs are the only identifiers UCLL connections have in ICMS - makes some jobs really vague.

Each UCLL line still has a 16xxxxxxxx number right?

Correct. That's the ASID.
