So I was reading an article on that most august website Stuff on the increasing numbers of people becoming naturists, I mean choosing to go with naked broadband (Interestingly, I didn't see any mention of the use of 3rd-party VOIP services like 2Talk as a replacement.) This got me thinking as to whether it is financially worth shifting to naked broadband and using 2Talk (as we still want to maintain a home line).
I see Bigpipe's UFB starter plan is $79 (for 100/20), but according to their website they don't provide UFB to my address (despite me having had it for over two years!) - is their availabilty geographically limited or is it just that their search tool is wrong?
What other ISPs currently provide UFB naked broadband at a similar price to Bigpipe? I'm not too worried about speed (happy with the 30/10 we currently have!), but do need unlimited.
At this point in time I'm not sure if it's really worth us shifting, given we pay $89 for 30/10 unlimited with phone from 2 Degrees (grandparented plan), and most if not all of that $10 difference will be eaten up by 2Talk charges (my mother-in-law likes to talk!) plus there's the hassle of setting up and managing the VOIP service oneself rather than letting the ISP do that. But perhaps there are other ISPs that make naked broadband stack up, hence my question.
Thanks in advance.
