I'm on VDSL getting 70/30 so I'm not exactly hurting, but they have announced they are going to finally lay fibre on my street so I'm having a think about it.
My number one gripe/concern is that I use DD-WRT and some pretty customized firewall, routing and other services. As such, I don't want to use a Fritzbox and would prefer to stay on DD-WRT.
My stumbling block is the part about handling the phone lines aspect. If I go to UFB it would make sense to kill the copper phone line as well so I need a router that has phone ports like the Fritzbox so I can keep my phone number and run it all through the fibre connection.
Anyone doing this here without using a ISP provided router? If so, how are you doing it and what hardware are you running?
