Just read the stuff article about Phil Goff working in his office due to poor coverage and slow speed. Surely there's a wireless ISP or two to help him work from home??

Pretty sure that was last year's lockdown; and there's a big thread on here already:

The story is dated as today. So perhaps Phil Goff's not learnt anything?

Or just Stuff rehashing the same story, over and over.

Nah, its this year, and in 18months since he last did the same he still has not bothered to sort his internet, or he is using it as a poor excuse, personal thought....................Dick

Or maybe he has and there is genuinely nothing reasonably available?

Without knowing where he is… maybe his place is on one of the many no cover parts of NZ?

If you read last year's thread there are good workable options, and he has actively refused them, and now there is Starlink so absolutely no excuse

Haha I just came to post about this.

I wonder how many other people could get away with this excuse in level 4?

Sorry Mr Police officer I have to drive 43km from my residence to the office because of bad "wifi" :/

Guys,

Lockdowns and not parking in bus lanes apply to other people.

I find it harder to believe that he doesn't have an apartment or similar alternative to regularly driving back and forth than poor communications at the farm.

Why would you not travel home? Company car, probably commutes on company time while calling into a "meeting".

Knowing very well where he lives - there are two WISPs in the area servicing his house that I know of.

One has a POP less than 2km from his house and the other probably less.

One supplies services to a restaurant and wedding venue in the area and from experience seems reliable!

So what has changed from last year? His address doesn't show a Chorus connection anymore so I actually think he has better broadband now and has not told anyone. Or has his router situated in the worst possible location so the "WiFi" doesn't reach the area he needs.

Double-dick.
