what is the easiest way to improve my computers speed and performance without having to go and buy new ram?

there is all the obvious usual ways, scan for errors, defrag, remove any tsr's.

if you want more power, then overclock.

I agree wholeheartedly with you there freitasm, at the end of the day no performance tricks can replace the benefit you will get from upgrading components / increasing capacity etc.

(although I overclock everything anyway - i would rather obtain the ram then overclock as well)

but not everyone can afford to go out and buy ram when required.

other utilities that may be helpful are utils like "memturbo" which clear out and defragment your memory.
