If anyone is using Outlook and has NZ public holidays turned on for their calendar can you check and see if Labour day is showing up as being on Monday 29th of October this year and let me know please. Want to know if it is just my environment or everywhere. Thank :)

It's not just you. On my work computer it was shown as next Monday.

Outlook 2013 shows the correct date 22nd October. Outlook 2010 also shows the correct date in my work environment. It will be an Exchange setup issue. My work mate at old job on Exchange 2010/Outlook 2010 also had date showing as 29th October.

Outlook 2010 here - no exchange. Date shown as coming Monday 29th.

yeah I think it is a client only setting as I cant see anything in our Exchange where I can push out public holiday updates to everyones calendars

Outlook 2010 (version 14.0.6117.5001 SP1) here and date is correct on my machine.

Office Pro Outlook 2010 Version 14.0.6123.5001 here, it shows 29th as Labour Day.

Not an Exchange set up issue as I'm not using Exchange.


Check File, Options, Calendar, Add Holidays in the Outlook client. If you have the NZ holidays active (which you most likely will, I think Outlook picks it up from your system locale settings) you will have the wrong Labour Day date - I think the algorithm that it uses hit a hiccup.

There are blog entries from way back that Microsoft got it wrong for a whole bunch of countries eg http://blog.meteorit.co.uk/2010/09/03/outlook-2010-has-incorrect-holidays-for-uk-and-many-other-countries/

that link helped me. Was able to fix the outlook.hol file and am gonna sort it out so that it updates users machines when they log on. Cheers all.
