Hi there,

I use an E740C. ROM-version is 1.023.0409. I try to connect with an HP Vectra VL800/Windows 2000 SP4 using USB and Activesync 3.7.

The computer detects the E740 hardware. Activesync connects but before a partnership is setup, the connection drops. This happens within 2 seconds.

I have tried a lot of things but find myself running out of options.
Please help!

IT could be a few things there... Have you checked your USB hardware (cradle, Pocket PC or USB ports)? Try this on other computer first.

USB-connection worked previously on this particular computer (W2K SP3 and perhaps Activesync 3.5, I believe).

Also used the cradle with my laptop (USB-connection, W2K SP4, Activesync 3.7 and that works fine). IR-connection with laptop works as well.

Cradle and PDA seem to be OK, but something on my computer get's in the way (USB-drivers? network-setup?)

Gr. and Thanks for your reply!

Tried connecting other USB device to this port to check if it's working fine? Perhaps a driver problem on Windows 2000?

Also, have you tried a soft reset just before placing the Pocket PC back in the cradle?

I have tried a soft reset before connecting multiple times. Also wait for Windows and Activesync to startup before I dock the PDA.

Under USB controllers my drivers are:

Intel 82801BA/BAM USB Universal host controller - 2442.
Driver 2.30.17.0 / 24-3-2000

USB root hub (usbhub.sys)
Driver 5.0.2195.6717 / 19-6-2003

Under Windows CE USB Devices my drivers are

Toshiba USB Sync e740 (wceusbsh.sys)
1.0.1.0 (no date, this is the toshiba provided driver)

Thanks again...
