Hey I have a new solution for uploading maps:

HFS

As long as your computer is on others can download from folders you set to share, providing they know what URL to go to (you can set a password too).

Could someone with good maps do this for us, give the URL out here and share just that folder?

Or perhaps just PM me the information - I'm thinking about buying a premium account with some file sharing site or other so that we can have a lasting NZ map for MGMaps stored maps for everyone.

BTW, HFS is amazing - very easy to configure but with excellent configurability - and best of all it lets you download and upload from your home PC on your phone! Of course SymSMB2 does that too, but this is freeware!!!!

Awesome, I'll make some maps up later when I'm not on this connection (slow....) and upload them somewhere for you.

I have 1.2 of Peejays mgmaps cache but the problem is I have no easy way of uploading it.
The "hfs" requires me to download software which is a bit off putting.

I gave up on that other site suggested, it was just so slow.

HFS is a small program, no installation just open the exe and take like 2 minutes to configure the connection. Is rapidshare or similar not an option?

I've just reinstalled the firmware on my N95 (latest ver 20 one), I'm finding now when I try to install MGmaps its failing due to a certificate error, anyone else found this?
I can get it installed if I ignore the error but then I encounter the problem of "read user data" question coming up constantly when using stored maps, because its not certified I have no option for it to set to always ok.

Rapidshare cannot accept  large files. (it's $172 megs)

I cannot figure out this HFS thing? how do I upload? of is it like DCC in irc?

You don't need to upload - just set the file to share, leave the computer on with HFS running and send the URL and userid/pass to anyone you want to be able to access it.

I have made a private FTP account for geekzone members on my webhost.

Please type in URL - ftp://geekzone@gwachigaan.com@gwachigaan.com (copy and paste)
Password - geekzone

You need to use a FTP client like filezilla (freeware) to upload

For filezilla Host box - gwachigaan.com
               Username - geekzone@gwachigaan.com
               Password - geekzone

Then you can upload the maps paradoxism. Hope you find this easy. Put up a 100GB/month limit so no one abuses it.

So if you type in the URL the link i have posted above and you see nothing there then, no one has uploaded the files yet ofcourse on the site.

This is a private server in US with upload speed of 300KB/s

Please stand by,

Watch as the miracle of ADSL2 coupled with 12 year old FTP software brings you the magic.

I'm charging the Nokia 6275, Wondering if it will function with it's internal GPS.

Garmin MobileXT itself without maps (which you dont need to pay for in NZ) seems to be a free download from : http://www.garmin.com/software/GarminMobileXTforSymbianS60_41040.exe

I've uploaded another set of maps.  NZ zoom 1-13 plus main cities 14-16.  16 tiles per file.
