Scowner:
Can MGMaps be loaded onto a SE p910i and work with a BT GPS?

Not sure, why not head to mgmaps.com and ask Christian (the developer) on his forums?

Thanks, it is light sensitive although not really good..

You can change how bright the screen backlight is when it comes on although I'm not sure if this will help your problem (not finding it good enough). To change this, go to:

Menu >> Tools >> Settings >> General >> Personalization >> Display >> Light sensor.

Oh drat.... I was sure google was doing something as it's been really slow for the last couple of weeks where Googlemaps actual application was fast

Let's hope google bring out a native Symbian application (not java based) that does all that MGMAPS does, I had no luck with the "cached maps" and it bogged my phone down but thanks to the creator anyway.

Hey guys Ive finally got my N95 after 1month of it getting fixed at PI (charging problem).I was using MGMaps in june but had not tried downloading the tiles and using it in offline mode.So this was the first thing I was gonna do but Ive just got to know that google has banned mgmaps from using its map. So is http://gmaps.freewebspace.com/ tutorial still valid ? Can i use other sources to download maps/tiles and use them in offline mode.My aim is to get a detailed offline GPS tracking.

Secondly, could guys post what applications you are using and find usefull ?(freeware/shareware)

Here's a list of apps ive been using:
Agile Messenger : Awesome messenger for MSN,Google talk,Yahoo but its paid (7day free trial)
Mobiola webcam : Good for using your phone as a webcam with lots of options
Handy weather : Doesnt seem to work for me
Midnight bowling 3d game : works fine
Smartmovie : I was able to play videos on it but crashes a lot
DivX : Works fine but got a certificate error recently
iSkoot : skype for n95

As I posted in my blog and in another thread: new version of Nokia Maps is available. It seems the the Nokia Map Loader has a new version too.
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/Aloha/3661

But dont hurry. The update of the Mokia Maps application on your N95 will cancel the tracking function. Without that and without navigation and detailed maps available for New Zealand the built in GPS unit in the N95 will became more "useless" tbh. I will do some more tests on the weekend and post it in my blog.

I is a kollege stoodent. Bee nice.

Hi Guys - With regards to the new version 12 firmware which is out, how do I go about upgrading? - I've downloaded the Nokia upgrader, however it tells me that my phone doesn't need upgrading and that there isn't an upgrade available. I'm running V 11.0.026 on a South African Vodafone Import.

Any advice appreciated - I'm keen to get my GPS fixing quicker than how it presently is!
