Americancars: Here is the new thread about anything other than the GPS/ Maps.

peejayw:
BTW, I think you have tried Sport Tracker as well as MGMaps, did you notice any difference in the aquisition speed for the gps?
I did, ST seems to lock very quickly while MGMaps takes much longer so its not necessarily a hardware thing.

heavenly_wild: I updated my firmware. My set is from Singapore. It updated like a charm:)
Camera performance has improved - no more red tinge!
Also, slightly faster when accessing menus.

paradoxsm: I uploaded the maps last night and it works OK, though very limited. Still it's more than ample for myself.
I wish I knew where my phone is from though, Is there a mass-product code checking utility?

Americancars: HELP!
I have changed my product code, but the languages available haven't changed. I tried EURO 1 and FRANCE
The available languages on the phone should change with the product codes right? The languages that I have are "English, Pilipino and Indonesian." These aren't the languages that EURO 1 should support or the languages that FRANCE should support.
Can anyone help me out?
Many thanks in advance.

peejayw: Changing the product code does not change the software on the phone. Its just an identifying code that identifies what market area the phone is for.As I understand it, the current firmware update is only for the Euro market and you need to change your product code to "fool" the updater into letting you download the new firmware.Good luck! Thanks, I would like to be able to set my phone to display French, how would I do this (if you know). Thanks. EDIT: To anyone who has updated their firmware with the EURO 1 product code, what are your lanuage options on your phone now because I was just thinking about it and I though that the avaiable lanuage may change with the new firmware because it was designed for the European market. I hope this is the case as I am a little aprehensive at changing my firmware because of the risk invloved and because the firmware is for the European market, it may give you different lanuage options. Thanks.
