Darn.

I just bought a 750v, looking forward to the fact that I could upgrade to WM6.

Oh well...

I am sorry to read this... As I wrote before, I won't be recommending any Palm or Vodafone-branded device any time soon.

well the i-mate SPJAS doesnt have an upgrade either.  Perhaps people should expect that if they get to update *any* device then they are lucky, but not to bank on it.....

The problem is not that. The problem is promising and not delivering. There was never a promise of an upgrade for th SPJAS.

No way now... Unless there's someone making a ROM available and you go looking, but it's not readily available and not from PaAlm or Vodafone.

Wow!

It took sometime but it's here now: Windows Mobile 6 update for Treo 750v Vodafone New Zealand.

Hooray, I'd given up on it. Interesting to see that its listed as only available until 31st October 2008. Why on earth would this be?

Seems a little wierd .. In theory I should not have been able to download the file [as I have already downloaded the Oz version] .. But download it did .. Recieved a password prompt when extracting [but clicked through and it extracted] .. Will try it later [when I have time to be disapointed].

Seems ok so far, upgrade wen't relatively smoothly. Although the background process that copies the firmware image across to the device stopped responding at one point and had to be manually closed - but this was after it had done it's job and it didn't really matter (it just froze the installers progress until closed).

Up and running on WM6 now.

Microsoft licensing restrictions... better hurry guys, October is approaching fast...!

The NZ installer won't install over the top of the AU one (or any other version you may have previously installed). You'll need some fancy footwork to get it installed...

Got any advice on how to do this?

Others have figured this out when installing generic builds etc onto VF devices. Its the same process - Google is your friend... you'll need a miniSD, and figure out how to extract the image and start the bootloader process... It's all out there. I've said too much already! Sealed

Hi guys,

Just a few questions.
Will i still have the threaded messaging if I upgrade to WM6?
Also, the website states: "Smartphone must be connected to power adapter and the synchronisation cable throughout the update."

The thing is, my sync cable and charging cable both go in the same input, so how can I have them both in at the same time? Will I need to buy another cable?

Thanks

Ebbi
