Hi, they were running a deal last week, cost + 7.5% (as per post I put on here a while back). Unfortunately finished now. No doubt they or Harvey Norman will have a sale soon though. I much prefer buying from a local retailer than a parallel importer, (supposedly) easier to get sorted if any issues.

lachlankeown: Only other niggle I have is that it is slippery and an awkward shape - I've already dropped it on the concrete and taken a chunk of yellow plastic off a corner :(

THIS. Get a case - immediately.

I have just picked up my new white Lumia 1020. $899 from Parallel Imported.
The salesman was as surprised as I was when we opened up the box and found
that it comes with the camera grip! No extra cost. He is expecting the screen protectors
and cases to arrive later today. This is the Queen St. shop for those who are interested.

what an awesome deal you scored!

I don't even know how the Camera Grip would fit in the normal 1020 box, was there another box that both were in?

For anyone interested, after my Lumia 1020 unboxing video posted previously in this thread, I've since posted one reboxing video and yesterday, a second reboxing video; returning both phones because of the camera performance.

Both videos have commentary for interested people; the second more so than the first.

  1. Nokia Lumia 1020 Reboxing & Commentary
  2. Nokia Lumia 1020 Review - Reboxing and returning it again

The next videos in the series will go into detail about why the Lumia 1020 camera is great and also why these phones were ultimately rejected.

I haven't seen any boxed ones before so I assume this is a bigger box.
I have taken some photos of the box but can't figure out how to put
them in here. Duh.

Kia Ora All,
I am in the process of rounding off my next couple of TelecomTech posts.

Does anyone have any requests for content to be covered?

-amateur photographer opinion on the camera functions
-some example video and video features
-ecosystem (apps and accessories)

happy to do other stuff.
