lachlankeown:
nathan: whats the goss on how to buy from NL at that price, $1149 on their website

I got a few mates that want them, how to buy them at that price?

Hi, they were running a deal last week, cost + 7.5% (as per post I put on here a while back). Unfortunately finished now. No doubt they or Harvey Norman will have a sale soon though. I much prefer buying from a local retailer than a parallel importer, (supposedly) easier to get sorted if any issues.

What's wrong with this editor? Keeps removing my links:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=6&topicid=124558&page_no=12#908698

They are $999 on their website currently.

I was told today there was an update for the Nokia 1020 - checked and indeed there was. Installed and these are the versions now:

This update enables 4G on Telecom NZ. Obviously you need a 4G SIM and the service is not live yet.

No idea. I don't think the update has anything to do with the MMS issue you are having. I can't test as I am using a VF SIM on mine...

How that you have the update is 4G working on Vodafone for you?

I don't have 4G in my Vodafone account since I am using a private APN.
I do have a couple of 4G SIM cards and will test later when back in Wellington.

Who else has had reframing (in Nokia Camera) broken by latest update?? Mine just silently fails, doesn't save. Bummer.

http://forums.pocketnow.com/discussion/661/1020-reframing-broken-after-nokia-camera-update

Otherwise loving my 1020. Apart from a few niggles:

  • Indoor photography takes a bit of tweaking to get right, auto seems to get it wrong a lot. Can get very yellow photos.
  • Music player is awful, much prefer the Android one. Very unintuitive. No way to manage "Now Playing".
  • Wish Google talk was integrated with built-in messaging.
Looking forward to GDR3, am tempted to install the preview but will hold off for now.

My camera is fine - really like the single interface for everything. Have you tried removing all the camera apps (Smart, Pro, Camera) and reinstalling Camera?

Indoor photography I still can't get right - as you said lots of yellow. I have got some good ones by manually tweaking but it isn't easy to do when you're trying to grab something quickly.

I don't use Google Talk, but Skype on there is pretty good.
