there is no Cortana without changing your regional settings (which causes other issues).

Redstone update removes Cortana region dependency so as long as you use a supported language it should be fine.

Good to know - this was not well advertised, probably due to the fact that most major markets have Cortana already!. I have implemented on my laptop and will see how it goes - will do the same on my 950XL once I get the screen fixed.

Thanks!

I got a 950 over the weekend. Haven't set it up yet (migrating from a 930). Any tips/tricks? Can I move all my photos/contacts/music/Whatsapp etc over easily, or is it a pain?

Do a backup on then 930 and sign into new phone with same Microsoft account. Contacts and music (from groove) should auto download. Photos will be on onedrive anyway if didn't turn off auto backup on 930

Do whatever you want to do man.

That seems like a question that would be answered in the first result of a Google search. https://www.whatsapp.com/faq/en/wp/28060005

I have just switched from Lumia 830 to the 950XL.  So far so good, much faster processor, excellent camera, and quite impressed with Continuum. One thing that has become a rather sore point however is its failure to link with Bluetooth: loudspeaker, headphones and even Surface Pro3.  Prior to switching to the 950, the 830 has performed faultlessly especially with Bluetooth however unfortunately, I did a factory reset in order to transfer ownership to my wife and since that time it too has lost the ability to link with Bluetooth items. What is it about Windows 10 Mobile?   How are you finding the 950XL?

Bluetooth is one feature I am yet to try, I have no need for it presently though I was considering a small Bluetooth speaker purchase. Do you see some sort of error when you attempt to connect?

The simplest way would be to go round Harvey Norman etc and ask to test out some of their BlueTooth equipment. They will help you through the process.

Got Whatsapp sorted but my SMS's/MMS's are not being copied over from the 930 to the 950 - the 950 says it can't copy anything. Frustrating.

Did you have SMS set to backup on the 930 using the Microsoft account?  If so, and if the same microsoft account is used, then they will also appear on the 950.

I did and no it didn't pull them down. Transfer my data didn't do anything either. Also a lot of the apps I use every day had rather poor implementation in Windows Mobile 10.

A pity, as I liked the phone frown

Rather than the 950XL you could try the HP elite X3 however your problems may not be hardware related.

I am still running my 930 on 8.1 (for app availability and Maps reasons) but am looking to upgrade my phone to either a 950XL dual sim or an Elite X3 dual sim but am somewhat concerned about backup transfer to the new phone, may have to pop over to win central and research some more http://forums.windowscentral.com/microsoft-lumia-950-xl/

HP Elite X3 is a good choice , it's much better and I've switched over to this as my daily driver

SMS backup restore has been having intermittent issues, you might want to try again and leave it plugged in over night
