(p/s: i guess i'll delay my WM5 purchase now... be it JasJar or Apache or KJam... does this also affect WM5 PDA connecting via bluetooth to 3G/GPRS?

Got apache, had jasjer, I've had no success with msn, On the jasjar 3g via usb/bt works fine

hmmm.. this is getting more interesting... So you can get onto MSN Messenger on JasJar using ActiveSync connection?....... tricky tricky... so does this mean TNZ and Vodafone are working together to launch MSN Mobile services?

Well if TNZ is going to do all MSN stuff, I'd say, launch the whole MSN services... MSN Hotmail with more space, MSN Subscription plan... oh and another great thing... EPG Guide via Telecom NZ... imagine TNZ and TVNZ (and Sky?) working together to provide EPG for MCE users! YAY!

I have not tested this with ActiveSync yet. And I would not jump to these conclusions yet.

Disenchanted, please try again on your Apache. I have just tried on the Universal I have here and it's working fine again.

MSN Messenger Mobile

MSN Mobile Today plugin showing number of unread messages on MSN Hotmail Inbox

The interesting thing is:

- TNZ states in the box it is not supported - obviously they should talk about some MSN Mobile services not MSN Messenger
- While Windows Mobile 5.0 couldn't connect there was no problem connecting Windows Mobile 2003.

Weird...

MSN still doesn't work on the Telecom Apache but it does work on the Vodafone NZ JasJar; have tried both the 3G and the Wifi connection on the latter.

Well, that's weird... now Pocket MSN works over WiFi on the Apache.

And signing in to Messenger on the Jasjar over UMTS no longer works - Logon to MSN Messenger Service failed because the service is not responding.

It looks like the MSN Messenger service is being inconsistent these days. Have to observe it longer...

Yeah it really is being inconsistent... just managed to log in to Messenger via EV-DO on the Apache.

It's probably an authentication problem.

Havent ever been able to login in on my Jasjar. I especially went and got a passport profile etc so that I could abuse my brother in law (the only other person I know on MSN) from where ever I am.

From the posts above, it appears to be inconsistent. I'll keep trying.
