freitasm: Is the Windows Phone application for Windows 7 supposed to automatically import photos from the Camera Roll?

The only way I've managed this is by selecting photos and clicking [Save to PC] but I thought this would be automatic?

Yes, I know we can use Explorer...

Looking at mine, it does look like the desktop app only syncs on demand whilst the Win8 Metro app does it automatically.

There's a page here that says what each different app does: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-nz/how-to/wp8/start/move-music-photos-and-videos-between-my-computer-and-my-phone

Has anyone got the MMS settings for Vodafone? I've been trying to set up MMS so I can receive PXT but it does not seem to be working. The instructions on the Vodafone NZ support website for the Lumia 920 do not appear to be correct.

JamesL: So I don't want to speak too soon but the syncing issues may have been fixed by a factory reset or using the default internet apn, instead of using direct.telecom.co.nz which I normally use in order to VPN to work through tether

yes you'd need to be comparing oranges to oranges between your 2 handsets

ActiveSync push requires all the firewalls, nats etc between your phone and exchange server allows open long https sessions

check the same settings, sane APN between your Android and WP phones

Finch: Winner of the Lumia 920 colour is Yellow....... Who on earth voted for that

I know! Must have been a bunch of people from Intergen or such like. I voted for red, but would have been interested to see if they could actually get cyans given only AT&T are allowed to sell those.

My vote was for blue or yellow.

Reason why as these goes with more colours for the tiles, i.e. yellow and green goes nice together, red on the other hand does not go with that many colours (unless its xmas then red and green are nice).

blue isn't an option right now, only black, white, yellow, red & grey

freitasm: If you can unlock it, yes. Mind you, AT&T customises a lot of their handsets, so you will end up with apps that are only for their subscribers, or strange configuration options...

att apps can be easily uninstalled

personally I wouldn't recommend buying one from ATT, it will be carrier locked to them and you will have a really difficult time getting it unlocked in any reasonable timeframe or price fwiw

Also edit the Internet APN and write vodafone and nothing else.

CapBBeard: 2) The times shown on SMS messages appear to be out by various lengths of time. It looks to be some sort of timezone related issue (I've noticed a 13 hour offset) but I've confirmed that the timezone is set to NZ time in all places. Have found a few mentions of this with WP7 online but nothing too helpful. Carrier is Telecom FYI.

Just the read the previous page on this thread about SMS time being off.

the right people know about the incoming SMS timestamp being out by 13 hours, thanks for reporting, fix forthcoming...

That is why i said blue or yellow, I went with yellow as "pick number 1" however.
If they had green I would have gone for that but yellow is 2nd favorite colour (after green).

I was using direct.telecom.co.nz on the SGS2 too

I would've thought a lower timeout value would cause the phone to issue requests more often rather than less, which doesn't explain why after long idle activity it wouldn't sync immediately after receiving an email

I'm slowly adding things back in to make sure nothing breaks it again, so the Google exchange account is back and things are still push

Eventually I'll change the apn back to direct to see if that's the cause

In theory the phone should work out the optimal time for EAS synch based on what's happening end to end from the exchange server, thru your firewall onto the internet and carriers networks

The only other thing I can think of is that there was no internet connection on the phone when I first set it up, as the sim wasn't active. After doing a factory reset the sim was in, I noticed that I had an additional email option "Xtra", so unsure what else may have needed internet during the initial setup.

Anyway, as a side note do either yourself or @BrentR know details about the "Extras & Info" update some overseas people are seeing and if we'll get it? There seems to be a theory that it allows for wireless to remain on when the phone is idle

Another question, some photo quality specific settings seem to be missing unless you set your region to US/UK, here, which allows you to adjust the quality when uploading to skydrive.

The only settings we have are on or off, any idea why?

I got that update last night.

The version is 1.4.2.1 on my phone. Did you receive the update?

I saw this updated last night for me. As for no settings for Skydrive uploads, it's easy: someone must think our mobile data is cheaper than US/UK ;P
