Yes, since it is being used to 'fix' these phones by Nokia, it must be supported going forward.

I have checked and all the version numbers supplied match those that I have on my personally flashed 'Portico' lumia, including the Radio Version.

I would note that, even after applying the Telecom NZ 'Portico' update [got it whilst it was still up on Nokia's firmware servers] my camera does not seem any better... [And that was the reason I flashed it to 'Portico' to start with...]

Now, my battery life [under little use at present] is great, well able to survive 18h+ per day. Unless I start gaming on the phone, or use Nokia Maps/Drive.

That 18h+ is with ActiveSync [Push Notification], WiFi, Bluetooth enabled. Skype, Battery Stats and NZ Weather running in the background...

Now, my phone definitely gets warm after a little web browsing, and even after the 'Portico' update I have seen it reboot once, but otherwise has been very stable [and was also prior to 'Portico']

After seeing all these reports of poor battery life, and lots of rebooting I do wonder if they are hardware issues, since mine with the same firmware has been pretty solid.

For you folks with Portico, does it fix the wrong time in incoming SMS?

Yes, got a text this morning and the timestamp on it says 9:10a [So it can't be 13 hours out]

Never noticed that one, but it is certainly reporting the correct time now.

Usually those sorts of problems are just related to what timezone you have set on the phone though.

The wrong time in the SMS was a known problem, not related to the set timezone. The fix was promised by Microsoft in Portico.

Glad this one's fixed.... Sadly my screen lock is happening again when I make calls.... anyone experiencing this? I am not using any case or screen cover and the proximity sensor "appears" to have no obstructions.... but it just locks up until the call is finished...Tried the solution that fixed it last time (blowing compressed air in to ear piece) but that hasn't resolved the issue this time round....

Yes the Portico update (1006) did definitely fix this SMS issue.  Also resolved the issue where the number wasn't resolved to the Contact name unless it was in specific format.  Calls where the contact is saved as +647 1234567 and 07 1234567 will both show me the caller name instead of number.

Both little things but make everything so much easier!

I think they are probably wanting to use there over the air update, hence the pulling from there update server.

Otherwise everyone would just update by themselves. It would be nice though if they kept that option.

"As soon as possible" would have been one month ago, when Nokia built it and released it on their firmware servers.

We are being held hostage by someone...

Need we be reminded that the number one competitor releases these sort of updates ota without the carrier having to 'approve'...

I'd be very suprised if we get it before February. Looks like apart from At&t devices and repaired units that the rest of the world gets it in Feb sometime. Bloody annoying especially the SMS timestamp issue!!

Looks like the update has improved my battery. I left the phone on the night stand last night an drained from 78% to 23% charged. It was draining to 0% overnight. After a full charge this morning it drained by about 53% with moderate use for about 6 hours and wifi disabled. Much better than before.
