Just do what was suggested above and load another region firmware. Doesn't take very long and worked well for me. You might as well since you've already reverted to 8.0.

What's that update waiting to install *today* :)  Is it ?

(I don't have a WiFi connection at work - MS don't support MS ISA and MS Windows Phone :) )

1520 has released Cyan for a bunch of Asian markets including HK which is probably where your parallel.import 1520 came from. The current SIM card in the device, like the 2D one doesn't control the roll out of updates :) enjoy 8.1 tonight

Awesome, will let all know how it goes and what I think of it (as you'll remember, I can be a bit severe :) )

And yes, the ROM is Chinese I believe.

Cheers,  Duncan.

downgrading to lumia black isnt needed to get cyan anymore if the WP dev preview 8.1 gdr1 update is installed.

8.1 is now available for the 520 on all NZ networks
820 for VFNZ is also now available
920 for TNZ should be available this week.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I've had a "check for updates" on my 820 but no luck yet. Does it take a little bit to roll out to the update servers or something?

Vodafone NZ. I'm running the Preview for Developers WP8.1 Update 1, although I've heard that that shouldn't be a problem in terms of getting Cyan once it becomes available.

this is the plan, but I don't believe Cyan is up there for Dev Preview users quite yet

Have you received it like this?

Cyan for those on Developer Preview isn't quite ready. You can always downgrade to 8 then apply the update

Not on my 'bog standard' Vodafone 520 it isn't.

Just ran an update check and and after 10+ seconds it says it's already up to date...

For Vodafone NZ, Cyan is under testing.

Ah righto, thanks guys. I think I might downgrade and have a crack that way as I'm impatient for a couple of Cyan features such as Bluetooth LE so I can sync my Fitbit etc ??
