Data Sense is a Windows Phone feature but must be supported by the mobile operator... Another "visual voice mail" thing that will take forever to be adopted or not at all.

Oh wow, I really should have researched, I had just assumed it would be similar to the data usage monitor on Android.

Data Sense allows you to set usage limits and will try to use less when you are close to those limits. But it needs to be enabled on the operator side.

I miss the Nokia Counters...

DataSense would be so useful. I can live without the compression, but the limits and per-app usage charts would be so useful. I can understand that the compression would require carrier support, but the app-usage must surely be monitored on the device? Why not put DataSense on WP8 by default but require carriers to optionally support compression.

The Wallet seems to be a bit of a let down. I can't see how without a secure element in the SIM card the phone could safely be used for real life payments in the real world replacing a credit or debit card. It's ok for paying online things using approved apps, but that's pretty much all it is.

Or a glorified credit card number storage.

Does anyone know if

a) we can access the SMS that is backed up to the cloud via web interface?
b) the wallet information is backed up and will be restored if a new phone is added to the account?

Now you say it... Yes, it is true. I didn't give my PayPal to Microsoft before but now it's listed. But not all the cards I loaded up, only the one I selected as a payment option for apps.

The app for that is in development and is call Nokia Counters. It's currently available as a beta for WP7 devices. I have it on my 800.

It's not a beta on Windows Phone 7 for ages now.

I have created a discussion about Lumia 920 battery life tips so we can share specific tips instead of a general discussion as this one.

Yes I have gone from a S3 to a Nokia 920. The OS is very different but have had no real issues with the transition
