That's what RDP is for, I'd never want the mess, or the support calls associated with trying to do that.

(how does 650 USD = 1200AUD???)

I was holding back buying a new phone till these came out cause I don't mind my Lumia 920 and I was interested but not at that price no way.
Guess I'll be going back to android just need google to announce the new nexus nz pricing...

Yep.. fortunately there's a bit of choice around so if the nexus range is bad value then just move on to the next one :)

get a grip. US price does not include sales tax. The other price you quoted does. Also checkout the FX rate. If it's too expensive for you, just parallel import.

US$650 = A$895 add 10% GST = A$984..

Well I for one am very keen to get my hands on the 950 XL as soon as I can. I've been keeping a very close eye on this phone for the past few months and I'll probably be importing directly to get it ASAP after the US release date. I'll be sure to post my experiences and carrier availability.

Oh and my only reservation about this phone is the non x32 support under 8" as per Joe Belfiore's Twitter post earlier this year. It was nearly a deal breaker when I read that but I'm still going to take the plunge on this phone next month. :)

Strong rumors point to an Intel Phone next year from Microsoft that will run x86 apps inside an App-V container on top of Universal apps in the Windows store. Surface phone!

Announced Sep 6 vs Oct 6
Available in US Nov 2 vs Dec 2?
Available in NZ Nov 27 vs Dec 27?

This timing would not suck only if initial release was also a Boxing Day sale ;)

Imaging samples from the 950XL look great, obviously they represent the best case scenario - professional photographer, probably a tripod etc - however they are very impressive indeed. I think I will pick up at 950XL to try at some point, will make a cute little companion phone to go with my P8max.
