There is a version hat is specific for the N95 it recognises the internal GPS, just hit "Connect".

Thats what I have, perhaps I just need be a little more patient while waiting for the lock (is it comparable to the Nokia maps speed in the V12 firmware normally?).

Once Smartcom has loaded, which does take a wee while, I find I get satellite lock within about 10 sec. If you are using ver 12 firmware, have you activated the A-GPS?

Slight OT, I assume the AGPS actually works in NZ? Is it something Vodafone has enabled or is it not dependant on operator?

Thanks.

Have you assigned Vodafone Internet as the Gateway for A-GPS?

run Tools /GPS Data app
u should see the 3G data transfer icon flashing if it is using A-GPS.

From what I understand, it figures out which cell site you are connected to and uses this info to determine which satellites it should be able to find in that area or something along those lines.

I'm kind of waiting for the official ones now. I think I did download them a while ago, I'll dig them up as I think they are stored on my E50 but it might takea few days. Bump this if I forget.
