With Wifi, i can be signed in, but if turn the apache off, i stay signed in (and appear online), but any messages to me go into a black hole somewhere, if i turn the apache back on, i dont get them (although i do get any new messages whilst the apache is on), is this normal?

Jama: That sure is weird - I have changed my regional settings to Old Blighty and sure enough it logs in. When it passes the URL it must pick up the region from the device. So, for those of you who have it working consistantly are your units set to NZ for region?

Yes, I am using English (New Zealand) and it connects ok.

Changed my region to UK and also signed in now.
Will see how it works.
If it does, does anyone know the charges for this. On Yahoo Vodaphone it was the same as an sms txt message.

It uses GPRS/3G so it will depend what data plan you are on. It has nothing to do with SMS

An Apache using GPRS? I doubt it :-)
If you dont have a data plan, please stop using data on your device immediately, and contact me. (You have my email address from the other day).

With no data plan, you pay $8 per megabyte. You really must have at least the lowest monthly plan.

Thank you so much everyone. All seems fine now with MSN. Changed regions to UK - worked, then back to NZ and soft reset - still fine. Not sure I will ever understand this but thank you all. :-)

I have exactly this problem with a SPV M5000:

I have tried a soft reset - same problem,
I have 20Mb of storage free and 23Mb of program space free,
and have cleared the cache as you suggested.

NB I am using this over a wireless network not 3G or GPRS.

Internet surfing is fine and I can access hotmail by using internet explorer,
just not via the integrated msn home icons.

I have received some information that a fault related to this problem was fixed. Can anyone confirm that their previously not working MSN connection is working fine now (without applying any changes)?
