drspangle: For anyone looking for a case - JB Hifi on queen street officially had at least one now :P (they had maybe 3 or 4 when I bought it originally. Look for them down the far end of the isle where all the laptops are (the laptop stand closest to the door)

Just called JB Wellington, they said they don't have any accessories and never did so looks like it's not all of the stores.

It is looking better and better for those who ordered from mobicity. I am yet another who has cancelled their order and paid a bit more to purchase one from eBay (along with screen protectors).

I cancelled one of my Touchpads via MobiCity, the other order is now verified after a phone call for verification.  I was assured it was expected to be shipped about the middle of the month, updates via email twitter and facebook.  Just a matter of waiting now.  Tongue out

I can understand your frustration.  I've discovered the seller of the Touchpad that I purchased on Ebay doesn't ship outside of the US.  To me there's no earthly reason why they would do this, however no problem I have a friend over there who can receive it and post on for me.

I go to pay for the Touchpad and in the process do the postage calculation and find the only option I can choose is the UPS 1 day at $63.83USD OUCH!!!!!!  Sh*t I've got stuff from the US to New Zealand in about 3 - 4 days for about half that price.  I don't need it that urgently to pay nearly  $77NZD just to move it within the US then pay more on top to get it sent here.

Hopefully the seller will accept my choice of the UPS ground option ($15 USD).  I don't expect to see it for about 10 days.

The seller usually notes if they will ship internationally or not. Some US sellers being somewhat insular in their view of the world, think it's really hard to do or they only ship UPS which is not easy to use internationally from a local postal depot.

Then of course there others who lowball their prices and hike up postage to make up for the deficit.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

I've checked the UPS prices and the $63.83 is the price charged by UPS so the seller isn't making anything on the shipping.

I think your comments about being insular or thinking it's difficult are probably more on the mark.

Yep, probably partly my fault though it's wasn't obvious.  The auction was closing within 3 minutes when I found it so there wasn't a lot of time to check out those details once I had logged in.

I'm getting mine shipped to a US forwarder, shipping cost me $10 via UPS and took 3 days to reach Portland (Being delivered today,Friday USA time).  I wish that they'd process it instantly, I tried to bribe them and asked if they could process same day so it would get off to me before the weekend but they didn't seem to keen :p

Wow they've gone slightly crazy in the US, on slick deals (http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3220862&page=417) they've figured out they can log into the in store kiosk at Staples for ordering for home delivery. Basically they're sitting there refreshing waiting for stock to update and be added so they can order.

They've tricked the website into thinking that they're at a Staples instore kiosk so even though the touchpad isn't for sale online it can be purchased when in stock via a Kiosk. Apparently some have been successful but many of them have auto refresh going or are constantly hitting F5, i'm surprised Staples haven't noticed yet since it has been a few days since it was figured out.

The slickdeals people are so obsessed it scares me a little :D , I mean some of them have spent more than a week just trying to buy one touchpad, should've just bit the bullet and bought one on eBay. The savings are only good if you can get one without wasting too much time, I spent more than enough time looking before I gave into eBay.

Edit: The link to slickdeals just links to the current page I was reading, not anything specific but is still interesting to read a bit. The thread goes up by one page every few minutes.

I couldn't take waiting so I pulled the trigger on a Acer Iconia which was going cheap. I know it's no Galaxy Tab 10.1 but after using a colleagues Touchpad today I'm most likely going to cancel my MobiCity order.

I was always going to try run Android on the Touchpad anyway so no reason to not get a device made to run it.

Anyone want a touchstone charger with AC adapter, unopened going cheap?

Just cancelled my order with mobicity too, got a 32 GB on ebay for 262 USD, so about the same price as a 16GB form mobicity, im just lucky enough to have a family member coming back form the states soon with just enough room in their suitcase for it.
