ahmad: I'm pretty sure any standard BT keyboard should work with the TouchPad but I'm meaning the "official" HP BT Keyboard for Touchpad - will that work with other devices or has HP configured it not to?

I don't see why they would configure it not to work on other devices. If it's any good they stand the chance of selling more for use on other devices.

I see the more likely situation (though I do think unlikely) is the Touchpad being set up only to work with the HP BT keyboard. This could happen by default, as I alluded to above, in that there may be software needed on the Touchpad to run a BT keyboard and that soft ware for the Touchpad may only be available from HP for WebOS when you buy their BT keyboard.

magu: Just got confirmation from USPS that my TouchPad is in NZ (processed by NZ sorting facility) and en route to destination. It was shipped on the 30th, so that's pretty good. USPS Express Mail International. Cost me US$57.

Total cost of 32GB TouchPad is NZ$419. Quite a lot cheaper than what I would have paid for it originally (I was one of the few considering it when they came out).

dam boy... you should of just got it of trade me,you would get an nz warranty and even help the NZ scalping business while your at it

Lucky you, let us all know what you think of it when it arrives. I don't think mine has left yet, I didn't pay for until mid Friday afternoon US time and don't expect it to leave until Tuesday US time (Wed NZ Time) as Monday is a holiday over there.

Just sorting out cases and trying to decide on the Touchstone. The cases in the US are a good price compared to here, but postage kills that to some extent. Perhaps one way is to get a bundle of them as a group purchase.

So far as I know HP warranty is world wide so the NZ warranty isn't all that big a deal.

As for the price, all I can say is there are some silly prices being paid on Trademe. It Just goes to show some people don't know the value of something once they start to bid. One of the buy now prices ($549) is crazy for a discontinued item considering what you can buy other currently support Tablets for.

You will struggle to buy in NZ for the price Magu paid. I got a 32Gb of Ebay for $335 NZD including postage.

Mine should be leaving Tuesday US time too, Race you? Mine's being shipped via DHL to Wellington, i'm kind of hoping it will turn up before next weekend, but I doubt it, don't think it will make it here in 2 days for some reason!

Sounds like you're getting yours sent as a courier item. I've had stuff turn up very fast that way but would have to agree getting it by the weekend with it leaving Wednesday our time is a bit hopeful. I would expect yours could be here by by Monday. As for mine I'm not expecting to see it till the end of the following week.

DHL at Wellington Airport are open Saturday morning so I could almost be in luck. But I will try not to get my hopes up, an extra $14 to get to and from the airport just adds cost! I chose for it to be delivered via 'Standard' rather than 'Express' from comgateway (Freight forwarder), i'd heard reports that both selections deliver in around the same timeframe so it wasn't worth waiting. Now it's just the waiting game. Back to Uni tomorrow so something to keep me busy for the week.

Received my 16GB touchpad on Friday, shipper ended up sending via USPS Priority Mail and it cost a bit over $45. Was lucky enough to have onSale come through for me (though I had also ordered a 32GB one from them which got cancelled). Shipping price was high as I mentioned before but I guess it wasn't too bad compared to comgateway. The touchstone is really convenient but I don't know if that's worth $60NZD, atleast it comes with an NZ ac adapter. If you want to use a third party NZ wall charger just keep in mind that the stock one outputs 2Amps.

I haven't overclocked yet but I'm pretty happy with the tablet's performance at 1.2Ghz with the 3.0.2 webOS update and logging set to minimal. Only major issue is the lack of proxy support means I can't use WiFi at uni :( Also, you can't set your region to New Zealand until you've updated to 3.0.2 but I would suggest setting your region to US if you have a credit card with a US billing address as the free app promotions are really favouring americans atm.

They don't have any specific touchpad cases though? You'd be buying an iPad case which would have a back camera hole in many cases, apart from that it would fit from what I have read, although if I was buying one i'd double check to see if it fit first before I ordered bulk as some seem to fit while others don't.

I believe they are looking for a dedicated touchpad case. Generally speaking if something is under $400 in value you will not be charged customs anyway no matter where you purchase from.

The cases on that link are not suitable. If you looked at the link I posted you would see that I was looking at dedicated Touchpad cases that double as stands. Sure some iPad cases may fit but the cut outs will not match the USB or headset connections or the power button etc.
