What kind of advice are you looking for? Apps? Setup issues? Accessories?

I think you need to be a bit more specific. Dad got a Nokia 800 about a month ago so I've gone through all that with his phone

Just anything really, I'm still getting used to it. 

 

Also, one question: when there's WiFi and it's connected to it, will it use that instead of 3G to surf the web, download stuff etc

Yep if you are connected to Wifi then it won't use your mobile data connection
