Not sure but will ask tomorrow (Monday) as I will be meeting with Blackberry folks visiting New Zealand this week to see the devices, etc.

Will be good to get an update when available in NZ as this is looking like my next phone. The way how bb10 handles peeking on notification and the unified hub, filtering by account and multitasking is what I have been wanting for a while.

I was looking at upgrading my sammy note 1 to a note 2 or S3 but it's not about the hardware but the operating system for me. Windows Phone comes close but not there yet for me.

Yes have owned a few iPhones and running cm10 4.2.1 on my note which is awesom .

Not to forget, BIS addition is no longer required, so in theory, a prepay card can drive it.

Dropping bis on the z10 and q10 opens bb to whole new markets and should make the os more appealing to a wider user base. I also like the dual phone mode work or play and looks will address a lot issues for companies trying to secure their work phones

If the Blackberry could live WITHOUT BIS for Internet access and WITHOUT BIS for email - I mean, if we could just use our own email and push (Office 365, ahem) then that would be a good change.

I met with a couple of Blackberry guys based in Sydney. We talked about the new devices (black, white), features, user interface.

I was given a Dev Alpha B device to try the OS and test some stuff.

The interface is pretty fast. Creating new accounts is easy, and I am happy to see I could create my Office 365 Exchange account with no need of BIS or anything else. Added Twitter and Hotmail accounts as well.

Downloaded an OS update OTA (about 697MB) and this device is currently at 10.9.10.35.

Developers will be happy with native SDK and SDKs for Adobe Air, HTML5, Android apps.

Being a Dev Alpha device this is not exactly the same case as in the final product, but the hardware inside is pretty close.

Australia is getting their first devices in March 2013, so I would expect New Zealand to be around that time as well.

So far, so good. It could easily give Windows Phone a run.

good to hear! The dev beta i had played with was good but very sluggish os wise. Had improve a lot on launch day from the demos.
Tempted to get my UK colleague to get me one. But I may wai. Don't want warranty hassles in the future.

The OS update I installed today was released only a couple of days ago. Shame Twitter client doesn't work on this release...

Maps work, but you can't manage Favourites. You also have to tap away an error when launching it since it can't access Favourites.

This is common with every new OS release, in this case new hardware also. Whilst all eyes will be on ecosystem support in the long run, but battery issues should be improved with lease updates. Reading the reviews I am impressed with BB effort when comparing with WP7, or WP8, initial releases.
